I was sitting in Bible study today and suddenly realized that Oprah's view of spirituality is the exact same make and model as Rick Warren's spirituality for the program of Celebrate Recovery and many other programs that he has within his church. Out of curiosity, I Googled Oprah and Rick Warren together and found that they have an entire video series on jointly teaching spirituality and the path to greater "spiritual awareness". Oprah is a new age priestess and I found this alarming that Rick Warren was jointly teaching with her on this topic. The liberal church has accepted a great lie in believing that it is alright to combine New Age practices with Christianity in a blend that is more palatable to a greater number of people. The gospel is very clear that we are not to follow after false religions or false teachings. We follow Christ as the only path to forgiveness and salvation. When we blend a strange kind of new religion in with God's already perfect plan, not only do we lead others astray, but we also fool ourselves into believing this is somehow a righteous and honorable thing. Rick Warren's teaching, just like Oprah's, has put Jesus on the back burner and psychological practices, which are more emotionally appealing, as the goal and focus of acquiring greater "spiritual enlightenment", or "recovery", as Pastor Rick Warren likes to call it. Be aware of the false religions of the end times. They can deceive even the elect.
