OK . Tried this on chat. I don't want bible verses. I want words, opinions and thoughts.

In Australia, gay people want gay marriage, and the christians are saying "it is against the christian family values" and no i am not gay..but i just want to know... What values out do and make better, those that a gay family may bring. Now keep in mind that this so called gay family do not bring any thing.."weird" into the homelife. What would be different.

Opinions. Thoughts. Comments on what could / could not be.

So I totally get what you're asking and (possibly) why you're asking about it. I've found one thing that is really important to know about the Bible, and it's something that most people don't understand about "rules" that God makes. God doesn't just make rules because He is God and arbitrarily decided to make some things off limits. Each "rule" you find in the Bible has a valuable and tangible reason behind it. Each one of them is for our good.

Sometimes it's difficult to figure out why it's valuable to follow a rule. For example; many people don't understand why God says not to have sex before marriage. But psychological studies have universally shown that having sex before marriage has a permanent damaging effect emotionally, both in couples who break up AND those who go on to marry each other.

There are reasons I can see BESIDES the Bible for not having a "gay family". Girls who grow up without a dad or with a dad who is distant tend to not be as sure about their morals. We've all heard of girls with "daddy issues" and it happens all the time. Without both parents, children tend to not have a complete set of values; something that generally gets instilled in a person in the first few years of life, and continues to get instilled in them throughout their childhood. Divorce does the same thing; a child growing up with only one parent misses out on many valuable psychological developments, and it makes it harder to function or handle certain things later on in life.
