Some of you may remember Norman Grubb, Missionary and one of the great writers of our time.
I remember a friend giving me a Grubb book, I read some and put it down because it just wasn't my cup of tea.
What I learned in time was Grubb wrote mostly about his understanding of the Christ in him. Norman had a revelation of the indwelling Christ in him on one of his African missionary tours and now was writing about it.
I had no idea what he was talking about, I did my preaching strictly from the Old Testament where you could get a message about the types and shadows, that was my thrill.

I mention Norman Grubb because he had young men and women that sat under him for years. Norman lived to be 93 year's old and some of his students at the time that are still alive are rapidly approaching their 90's and still going.

Norman was what we call a "father of the faith." As Paul so eloquently describes, "we have many instructors in Christ, but not many father's."

If you have never had the pleasure to be around these men and women who know and understand the plan and purpose of God, I strongly urge you to do so. It changes your life, you can Nolonger be just an average Joe sailing through life, you see as well feel what it is like to get called into a life of selflessness.

Most do not have a pulpit of today's standards, they make their own. Their great commission is faithfulness to the Father. They speak a different language, they have their own sound, they don't sound like so many others. There has been a furtherance of the gospel truth they spoke, but what came from them was pure truth for today.

These that are still with us such as Don Byrd, Dwight Davis, Frank Stigall (who has passed but wrote many books), Amy Garcia ( author, song writer and minister). Just to mention a few.
Sad that few there be that will ever get to meet these precious individuals who gave their all for the message of Christ in you.
Another that goes without mentioning is a wonderful man by the name of Warren Litzman. Dedicated to the purpose of telling the world that they were made in the image and likeness of God, and Christ desires to live in and through you, as their only life. A magnanimous individual that will go down in our time as a great if not the greatest writer-teacher to live in our lifetime.
Faithful to sit under Norman Grubb and listen to the HolySpirit, becoming a father of the faith, Godspeed my dear friend

I would be careful of recommending men who we should sit under and listen to as if we are listening to Holy Spirit and as you say becoming a father of the faith . The Holy Spirit is not of men. He can live in them as Emmanuel but the power of the Spirit is not of our spirits that he gives birth to as the Father of all spirit life.

The word fathers is used in two ways in the scriptures. One to honor our father in heaven and the other does dishonor to him . One in respect to those who get under the hearing of faith as I all things written in the law and the prophets (sola scriptura) They unlike the other fathers worship our God, the God of the fathers .While the other as a "law of the fathers" worship or venerate the fathers seen as if they made up our one father in heaven, not seen. A false zeal for knowing the true God, the Creator. They would appose the law "not to call any man on earth father in that way.

One is our unseen Father in heaven. The commandment as a law of one father in heaven that they did not believe, having no faith in the author of scripture they showed themselves as fools (no belief of God in their hearts) .

Saul who named was changed to Paul experienced being in the place of both kinds of fathers. starting out as Saul doing dishonor to our unseen father in heaven and ending up being of the kind of fathers he was persecuting. .

I am verily a man which am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, and taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was zealous toward God, as ye all are this day.And I persecuted this way unto the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women. As also the high priest doth bear me witness, and all the estate of the elders: from whom also I received letters unto the brethren, and went to Damascus, to bring them which were there bound unto Jerusalem, for to be punished.Acts 22:3-5

This proves they were walking after the natural course of this world the lust of the flesh, lust of the eye.... pride builders .It became kill the misperceived as in no spiritual understanding competition as in out of sight out of mind like those of the Pharisees with Sadducees sects .Even receiving letters of approval to those who did follow the commandment as a "law of the fathers".

Paul was no longer a part of those kind of fathers was being sought after by those fathers who dishonor to our father in heaven .They called Paul a ring leader and wanted to judge Paul according to the law of the father a law of man (the law of walking by sight as in natural man )

For we have found this man a pestilent fellow, and a mover of sedition among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes: Who also hath gone about to profane the temple: whom we took, and would have judged according to our law.Acts 24:5-6

Paul having become a member of the Nazarene sect or called the way. Those who dishonored to our father in heaven tried to prove that all things written in the law and the prophets (sola scriptura ) was a mere opinion of men and not the law of God unseen .

Neither can they prove the things whereof they now accuse me. But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, "so worship I the God of my fathers", believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:Acts 24:13-14

"so worship I the God of my fathers", and again not upside down..... "so worship I my fathers as if they were God not seen ",

Jesus referred it to one of the what I call "think not doctrines" . In Mathew some Jews were hoping their Jewish flesh could profit for a spiritual work. they were trusting in the flesh of Abraham, as a hope . They in effect said we have Abraham through the fathers to our father . We do not believe in a unseen God.

Jesus said if he desired to do so he could raise up lively stones that all together make up the spiritual house of God the church as His eternal bride

Matthew 3:9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

If Jesus said His flesh profits for nothing then surely the flesh of the forefathers do not.

The believers as of the 1st. century reformation are considered the temple of God made up of lively stones . The veil is rent The Son of man has come.

Why do I get the sense, you have no clue what we are talking about
