Fear is a crippler.

It keeps you in places God never intended for you to remain. It paralyzes your ability to reason, to see beyond your circumstances, and to imagine what God can do beyond what you currently see.

Fear convinces you that God will come through too late. It prevents you from stepping into God’s perfect will for your life. It makes you see the mountain and lose sight of the God who is greater than the mountain. It blinds your eyes to the promises of God and makes you question the veracity of His Word.

But truly, God is not a man that He should lie, neither the son of man that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? (Numbers 23:19)

Scripture reminds us:
“...for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6)

And again:
"It is the Lord Who goes before you; He will [march] with you; He will not fail you or let you go or forsake you; [let there be no cowardice or flinching, but] fear not, neither become broken [in spirit - depressed, dismayed, and unnerved with alarm]. (Deuteronomy 31:8) AMP

Unbelief is a sin that many of us are guilty of; myself included. Sometimes, despite all the miracles we've seen, all the prayers God has answered, all the doors He has opened, and all the times He has proven Himself faithful, we still find ourselves afraid.

But perhaps, after all He has done, it is time to trust Him.

Not just with the things we understand, not just with the things we can control, not just when the outcome is obvious, but with our whole hearts.

It is time to believe that if He said it, He will do it. If He spoke it, He will bring it to pass. If He has called us, He will equip us. If He has gone before us, we do not have to be afraid of what lies ahead.

The mountain may be real, but our God is greater, the uncertainty may be real, but His promises are sure, the waiting may be difficult, but God is never late.

So, today, let fear lose its grip, let unbelief give way to faith, and let us trust the God who has proven, again and again, that He is faithful.

He will come through for us.
