I had just wrote on the board about fear at my Cristian based Transition House, I stated how fear is a killer and fear =bondage and this morning I had this fear of leaving the house, I have internet in my room and cable so I really dont have to go anywhere. At least thats what the enemy was telling me, I had this fear until just a minute ago, I sat down and pinpointed where this fear was coming from. Right away I could see the evil ones plan. I was to stay home and not spread the good news, I was to stay home and miss a opportunity that God has opened up for me. Thats what the enemy wanted, when I realized that I felt like I was removing a heavy coat. will update at the end of the day. Praise Jesus!

True, God is definitely not the source of fear.

We want to fear that we are not following His lead in our life, halo, His angels will watch o'er us and His hand will power us through where He wants us to go, but only if we go peacefully, gently, remarkably believing in Him, His way for us, His path will we have success, which will be His 'sucess' for us, which will only come IF what we do is solely to His glory. :)

How do we follow Him? Read our bible in the morning, afternoon, and, evening, and, night, and, even, at midnight, whenever He leads us to . He will lead. And, we know His Word is true, it's from Him, inspired writings from humans but every word God-breathed to the page.

I like what 1 Thessalonians 5: 16, 17, 18, these verses say for how we are to be doing the Lord's will as His Spirit leads us, reveals His Word to us in life:

1. Rejoice always.
2. Pray without ceasing.
3. Give thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ.

This keeps us in personal relationship with Him and this is what God wants individually with all His sheep, who know His voice and will follow Him :)

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. 1 John 4:18

Sounds like you've found His perfect love. :) Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. He has overcome the world. :)

I like to 'like' my lightningbuddybrother's posts, and, we need to realize God is love but we also need to realize that fearing God is what we are to do to have our hearts right with Him. When Cain feared God, realized His power, Cain asked, pleaded with God, rather, that His 'punishment was more than I can bear' after having heard God say Cain would be a 'wanderer' on the Earth for having killed his brother, Abel.

Cain, finally, realized that God was real, had faith, albeit, it took a voice from the sky booming down at him but He realized God was really real, by faith. Good thing Cain did, for God lessened Cain's punishment, and, in truth, God took it away because Cain showed FAITH by no longer dismissing God's rules as benign. God gave Cain a wife, children, and, here's the big one, I like, Cain 'built a city.' :)

Excellent, God can, indeed, be our source of fear, when we are not following Him, He will put the fear of Him in us. We are to fear God, but only in the sense that He is very real, He is in our life, we are in His life, He wants it that way, He will only have it that way. Our God is a jealous God, the One, the only One who we are to understand wants us--with all our heart, mind, body, soul, everything in us-- to follow Him. The Lod leads :)

Excellent verse, julieannie, just like the one of Mark or Matthew posted, of what God puts together, 'let no man tear asunder (apart).' :)

Sounds like you've found His perfect love. :) Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. He has overcome the world. :)

God gets us through our times of fear, it's an amazing thing to even realize this truth, for it is scary but good, at the same time, for in so going, through things with God, we will, one day, see His reasons for everything He's doing, we will 'dwell in His house forever.' In His time, we will live and we will die and be with Him, IF we trust in Him, though faith. For God will always be there for us, never leaving us and never forsaking us , per Hebrews 13:5.

Halo, keep following Him, listen to His voice and no other, His Spirit in you and no other. In 1 John 4 , God's Word tells us how we are to know if spirits are from Him or not.

"1Beloved, believe not
every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false
prophets are gone out into the world. 2Hereby know ye the
Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the
flesh is of God: 3And every spirit that
confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is
that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and
even now already is it in the world. 4Ye are of God, little
children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he
that is in the world. 5They are of the world:
therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. 6We are
of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us.
Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error"

God bless you , brother, in Him, green :)

The Lord leads. "...you follow Me." John 21:22 :)

The Lord is My Shepherd
(Ezekiel 34:11-24; John
10:1-21
)

1{A Psalm of David.}
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2He maketh me to lie
down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3He restoreth my soul:
he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4Yea, though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou
art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5Thou preparest a table
before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my
cup runneth over.

6Surely goodness and
mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of
the LORD for ever.

Hal51, that's great that you were shown how that fear was of the devil. :)

I don't think that fear is from God, but I also don't think that fear is inherently bad, either. I believe that there are different "types" of fear. Some are of Satan and keep us from doing God's will, and other fears are either conditioned or are "natural" responses.
