Hey everyone. I don't know what to say other than I'm feeling a lot of shame and guilt for things that I happened a long time ago. I feel so dirty and terrible. I've repented to God and I know He has forgiven me, but I still feel so broken. So please pray for my heart because it feels like it's breaking. I know I need to trust in God and I've been trying, but I just can't seem to forgive myself for what happened in the past.
I’m not able to give advice since I’m undergoing something related to this, but I’m gonna reply so that it indicates that I’m watching this thread and so that you know that you have a like-minded, possible friend to converse with. Nonetheless, I hope this resolves soon.

Hi @paisleypanther, praying for you 🙏🏼 Always remember that God loves you and whatever the weight of your shame and guilt it has been paid for by the blood of Christ, it is what he did on the cross that we can also forgive ourselves, to live our lives free from the condemnation of satan in our minds. God bless your heart n soul.

There are some sins you can't fix... If you steal you can return it or pay for it and ask them to forgive you. If you lie you can say your sorry and then stop lying.

I committed a sin that can't be fixed many years ago I had an abortion. I can't bring that baby back I don't get a do over. But I asked God to forgive me and now I trust that He has forgiven me and I look to Jesus as He paid the price for all of our sins on the cross our past sins, present sins and future sins.

His grace is sufficient for you and me we just confess our sins, turn from our sins and believe and trust that Jesus sacrifice has paid for our sins. He looked at the woman caught in adultery and asked her.. Where are your accusers? Then with compassion He said to her neither do I condemn you go and sin no more.

We are free by the blood of Jesus - Thank and praise God our sins are forgiven now He asks us to go and sin no more. But if we do we have a Savior who's blood covers us. We repent and we can trust that we are forgiven.

God has and He says He remembers our sins no more. Go in peace and praise God.

I think of David. He committed adultery with another man's wife and then murdered the man so he could have more.

2 Samuel 12
12:1 And the LORD sent Nathan unto David. And he came unto him, and said unto him, There were two men in one city; the one rich, and the other poor.
12:2 The rich [man] had exceeding many flocks and herds:
12:3 But the poor [man] had nothing, save one little ewe lamb, which he had bought and nourished up: and it grew up together with him, and with his children; it did eat of his own meat, and drank of his own cup, and lay in his bosom, and was unto him as a daughter.
12:4 And there came a traveller unto the rich man, and he spared to take of his own flock and of his own herd, to dress for the wayfaring man that was come unto him; but took the poor man's lamb, and dressed it for the man that was come to him.
12:5 And David's anger was greatly kindled against the man; and he said to Nathan, [As] the LORD liveth, the man that hath done this [thing] shall surely die:
12:6 And he shall restore the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing, and because he had no pity.
12:7 And Nathan said to David, Thou [art] the man.

Many years later Jesus died on the Cross. Do you know what kind of people Jesus died for? People like David. People like you. People like me. He loves us all. He sees beyond what we were. He sees beyond what we are. He sees what we can be. He has the power to make something beautiful out of your life and mine. He wants to because He loves us. He came to make the vilest sinner clean.

Mark 2
2:15 And it came to pass, that, as Jesus sat at meat in his house, many publicans and sinners sat also together with Jesus and his disciples: for there were many, and they followed him.
2:16 And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners?
2:17 When Jesus heard [it], he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

4. I used to fret and replay my old sins and beg God for forgiveness. Then, one day, God told me to stop telling Him about my old sins. He actually rebuked me for asking for forgiveness again. I think I was offensive to Him because I wasn't trusting Him when He says that He forgives COMPLETELY. I was already cleansed but I wasn't acting like I was.
5. We need to have faith that God is telling us the truth when He says that He has wiped away our sins and we are pure and clean now!
I love all of this so much. You're right to say that I am not trusting God when I bring up my past sins to Him. I never thought of it that way. I have been doing a little better lately, and I think I've been finally able to accept that God has forgiven me.
