Thank you all again for the prayers and words of wisdom. I understand what you all are saying. Like mentioned already, easier said than done. A question, though. No employers are giving me feedback on what I can work on. Whether it's in the interview. Or resume. What do I do when it comes to convincing employers I'm the right person for the job? Every person asks "Why do you want to work for me?". I've been honest and said I just want to work. As you can see, I wasn't hired. So any insights into the interviewing process would be highly appreciated, as I'm sure a lot of you have stories about it. If insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different, then besides giving it to God, what do I need to do? And in a situation like this, what does it mean to give it to God? Cause it's not like I can stay in bed all day. I do have to physically be out there. Thank you for any future feedback.
In 2Kings 4 - Elisha talked to a widow who was in financial need and he asked her what she had and she answered a little bit of olive oil. So he instructed her to go and borrow as many empty vessels she could and fill them with the oil and sell it for support for he family. I encourage you to read this story from the Bible.
Now why did I ask you to do this? I will ask you the question..... What talents do you have? I don't know your educational background or your work experience. But do you own a law mower? Or do you have a snow shovel? Again don't know where you are located.... My point is if a job is not coming to you make a job....ask if you could mow someone's lawn for money or shovel snow for money as you are in need of work and are willing to work.... Is there something you are good at that you start your own business? Maybe you need to be working for yourself and not someone else. I don't know the answers to these questions but you do. Do you have a car? Let the Pastor of your church know you'd be willing to take someone to Dr. apt or to the store that is elderly or go do their grocery shopping to make some money. Just thoughts to try and fill in the gaps while you are looking for a job that might help you feel a little more independent from your dad. Praying that you will find work soon.
Did you try freelancer sites? Sports editor experience is good, plus you have bachelor in psychology. You could write articles online and work like that for some site or company. Nowadays they use content to drive traffic to the site. The best way to succeed as a freelancer is if you have a niche. Pick something to focus on and you could try this? With experience and more jobs done your working price grows, too.
Would I be able to do this even though I don't own a computer and am unable to drive? As reporters you do have to travel to report. And the transportation here isn't very good.

You just need a computer. But you could buy a small notebook, that's relatively affordable, because you need to type and such, it's much easier and faster than using phone. That and internet connection is all you need for freelancing.
Just give Him thanks. That's it. Thanks and trust and go about your day knowing He is in control. So while I am proactive in doing this, how do I put God first and make sure I don't fall into putting a job before Him or idolizing work?
Yeah I think you are really nice and very interesting person and just searching for a little peace of mind.I was told I have been stressing way too much over this (which I admit) and I might be idolizing work and putting it above my relationship with God. Which is why I asked.
you at least have a sense to want to be responsible, something I never wanted to do growing up, I just wanted to be a free spirit, I told myself that I hope I never have to work and I prayed to God to come back early so it could be so. I think this selfish prayer is what may have messed me up the most, I lost all my passion, stop caring about doing anything really, gaming was the only thing I cared about for quite awhile. I enjoyed camping, playing sports, drawing, and a lot of other things, I now for the 1st time in my life don't want anything, I don't even care if I get a cake for my b-day this year, or even hear from someone happy b-day, I know my parents will tell me though and I thank God for that, even though my wants are finally dissolving in my life. I've even been battling an addiction of lust, don't want it anymore nor do I need it. I'm trying really hard to be happy only with Jesus, even though his wisdom is far too great I've been really trying now to read the bible with my heart instead of my brain. I read the entire bible with my brain but I've only been able to memorize 2 verses. I told myself time and time again Lord, what worth and my if I can barely memorize anything really, I'm really forgetful at times.
I pray you find peace in your heart.
I am listening. Thank you and everyone else for the posts and prayers. It's hard to see what good there is when you're getting into your mid 20s and having a parent still pay for everything. For me that's completely embarrassing. And I've been wondering a lot maybe I'm not called to work. Since there is a lot of homeless people in the world. Maybe I'm called to be like them.
