Something happened to me about 3 days ago and I was wondering if someone could tell me what's going on or something :P So this happened: I was in my room listening to Christian music (I love it, it makes me so happy), but I found this song that I had never heard before, it's called The End of the Beginning by David Phelps. As I was hearing it, I started feeling something, and it was so powerful and intense, I remember that I started crying a bit. The song continued and that feeling increased a lot and I cried more, when the song ended I cried for about 2-3 hours straight. I wasn't sad or frustrated, in fact, I was very happy but I didn't know why I was crying. I've always believed in God but it was until I was in 7th grade that I actually started to be more devoted to him. I remember I had this feeling in that same year and also when my Religion teacher baptized me in 9th grade. I was wondering if any of you guys/girls has ever had this feeling? It was a very good, positive feeling, but it was so intense and it made me cry and I don't know what it is

That's awesome, sister!

I haven't tangibly felt God's presence in a long time (and not for want of trying). I remember in my early high school years, when I was about your age, I attended a Christian youth camp and at one point there was time at night where we were given a short gospel message and then given the opportunity to meditate on God's Word and to just sit in His presence for however long we felt was necessary (the room was dark and there were some candles arranged on the ground in the shape of a cross). We could leave whenever we liked, but I remember staying for a couple hours, just talking to God in my mind - repenting, asking for forgiveness, thanking Him, praising Him, loving Him - just being honest with Him. Following this, I sat in my dorm with one of the girls and one of our leaders and the two of us teenagers just cried for ages as God worked on our hearts. It's hard to describe. To me it felt like sadness and joy and excitement and peace and love and so much more - all at the same time. To be touched by God in such a way, that was life changing. I had always been a Christian but I became stronger in my faith and more dedicated to God after that happened. The camp leader prayed with us and over us. I don't know how long we cried for and prayed, but it was at least a couple of hours. We were emotionally and mentally exhausted but spiritually refreshed, so sleep that night came quickly.

Keep diving deeper with Christ. You're onto something good! If you experience wilderness moments in your faith, keep pressing into God, because He's always there (even when you can't feel Him)!

Thank you so much... I've also gone to a Christian youth camp! I must say, it's the best camp I've ever been in. It helped me so much with my relationship with God. We sang Christian songs and did lots of activities, but we also had times in which we just all sat together in groups and prayed and just communicated with God, I remember we would all cry while doing that because there were so many emotions going on there.

A friend of mine went through a similar experience while listening to Radiohead's Reckoner. Though, I think his emotions were a bit different from what you described. From what he told me and from what I can remember, he just laid in bed for an hour paralyzed (figuratively speaking) in deep thought and emotion. I think he described it as feeling a bunch of different conflicting emotions at once.

You'll be surprised how much emotion can be stirred by music.
