Has anyone ever at somepoint in there life felt lost and also felt like life was pointless but eventually overcame it? If so I would love to hear it because I am a male in my early 20's and I feel completely LOST. and I don't feel like my life will ever make sense.

Yes i've been through it and got out the other side. It was the single most worst experience I've ever had. If you want to message me I'd be fine with it- i dont have to preach at you I can just listen if you'd like.
 
Yes I have, but can you explain more about your situation. What do you mean by 'lost'?

At some point or another EVERYONE in life feels this same thing. It's simply an attack from the enemy, and we must remember Jesus told us, that He has already overcome the world! The thing is, we must keep our faith. I've been there, done that, and as Dread said, it WAS the worst thing...however, it's also the BEST thing as well. Now don't go all ''you're nuts'' on me here, just listen, and hear me out.

While it's horrible what you go through, how you feel, etc. It's also the most wonderful, beautiful, craziest, thing you'll face. Why? Because God pulls you through it, you rejoice, you thank,praise,honor, and glorify Him. You grow and mature in Him, you seek Him more, you truly learn, feel, see,and experience the REAL love, mercy,grace,compassion,understanding,patients, and everything else there is about God!

You're so drawn into Him during this time, and even more so once you're delivered from it. The key is this: control it, don't allow it to control you. We live under grace, the grace of GOD ALMIGHTY! Once this trial is over, you shall be stronger, wiser, so many awesome things. You're learning the true awesomeness, power, might, of God, you're really experiencing Him....now I must say this. It's not God doing this to you, it's the enemy aka Satan, he's testing you and your faith. Remember, and even read up on the story of Job.

God's still, and always will be in the miracle working business. Here's some hope for you: I struggled for months, as I hadn't been in church...I'm about to be starting to go again. God led me a very dear sister on this site, whom lives only a few minutes from me.We met up, and I was suppose to start going to church with her and her family this Sunday. Well ole Satan just hated, and despised that I was getting closer with God, going back to living better/right, and that I was about to get back in church. So what happened? Well, he attacked. Saturday morning, we had to rush my grandmother to the emergency room. We thought she was having a heart attack. Long story short, she had a blockage at first they said. They admitted her to the hospital, did more test on Sunday, they found NOTHING. God worked a miracle, she's fine, and came home Sunday afternoon.

you see, Satan's out to get us, no matter if it's us he attacks directly, or indirectly. He knows just how to get to us. God said that He wouldn't let Satan win though, for we're children of His and He protected her. Same goes for you, it WILL be okay, this shall pass, in His timing, and according to His will. God bless.

Im in the exact same boat as you are right now. Also in my early 20's. This expierence happened to me once before about 2 years agao. Plain and simple...it goes away, and you eventually feel like you have a life again. At the present moment, it feels like crap. I know exactly what your feeling, im there. The thing for me is that I was diagnosed as being bipolar. So now im taking medications by doctors orders.
By the way you have explained it, it sounds like your could be having a battle with depression. Now understand, I am NOT a doctor. Dont take my words as being the end all perfect answers, im just telling you from my expierence.

My advice would be to pray to God. That would be your first, and most important step to healing. Always keep God in the picture of your problems while striving for solution. Miracles do exist. Ive witnessed some myself, that put the faith of Jesus into my heart. (I do not wish to explain those miracles as I will be sitting here typing untill my fingers fall off...I may make a testmony form one day in the future) Pour your heart out to him, give your life, trust and hope into and with Jesus, watch what happens.

Then my next word of advice would be to see a doctor. Tell Him/Her everything that you can, with full truth (as to not confuse the doctors), and see what they say. They are there to help.
For me, once they got me on the right medications I was back to absolute normal...I had that feeling of life, and reason to live, ambition etc. It all came back, within time. They told me through bloodwork, that I was very low on certain chemicals in my brain, and had higher amounts of another.

One important factor is that the healing of yourself...spiritually...brain chemically...whatever... takes time, like a broken leg. Be patient...God doesn't want his children to live in "spiritual nothingness". Think about it, If you were God and one of your children was praying to you... suffering, would you not do everything in your almighty power, to help your child in any way you could?

One note I would like to add is the common thought that everything happens for a reason. Mabye God is taking you away from a sinful nature that you could not otherwise do alone. That is my solid reason as to why I am going through this phase in my life. For me, God was and is teaching me to follow his commandments, and to flee Satans ways. For me, God has shown me to give up smoking weed, sex before marriage, drinking, gambling, Idols. He taught me that trusting him was the only way to an honest, truthful to self life.

At the present moment, those sinful natures I sinned were fully my life. Weed, sex, drinking, gambling, idols....that is my......past.....life. So right now it feels like I have no life...I just kind of exist. BUT ive been through this type of thing before, and (with Gods help) pulled through, back into life again.

I would like to say, just never give up, put your trust in the Lord. He is all powerfull and all knowing. His knowledge surpasses anything that we could ever imagine. You and God working together can get through anything...literally. What your going through now is just a phase (with meaning, that you may not see at the present moment). God loves you...pierod. You'll get through it...trust me. And if you dont trust me...trust God. He has, and is the answer to everything your looking for. Plain and simple.

what doesn't make sense, if you are able to better describe what you are feeling, what you are experiencing, or the facts of the situation others may better be able to help you with their own experience, knowledge, and prayer
 
We don't have to know everything, or any details. We can pray anyways. God knows the need, the situation, the details, and all that stuff. All we have to do is call on the Lord, ask His will be done, etc. and it's taken care of. :)

Hi,
I totally know how you are feeling. I want to tell you that in Gods due time, you can overcome this. When Christ lives in our heart, we should not be feeling anxious, alone, or depressed. As a teenager into my young adult years I lived with horrible depression and anxiety. I was suffering form severe emotional problems, and I was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. I was taking medications for 4 years to supposadly control these moods. After taking them for this long time, and after being hospitalized 3 times, I realized none of this was working. I quit taking all the meds, but continued to suffer with these symptoms. About 2 years later, I decided to give my life to the Lord and I asked Him to take away all of these things from me. Well, He did. Sometimes these things don't happen right away. Personally I think it all depends on how much we are trusting in the Lord, and sometimes I think it takes a while because in the long run it makes us stronger in the Lord and teaches us to lean on Him completely.
But here is some bible verses regarding anxiety, fear, and worthlessness:
Isaiah 43:1-3, But now, this is what the Lord says- he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Isreal: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze."
1 Peter 4:12-13, Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be over joyed when his glory is revealed.
John 14:1, "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me."
Hebrews 13:5, Keep your lives free form the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."
1 Peter 5:10, And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.
Matthew 11:28-30, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
2 Corinthians 12:9-10, But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

The pain of feeling like you don't register on the realms of society. It's nostalgic and close to relentless.

What makes it even more daunting is when you feel like your prayers are not reaching God. You start to question the foundation of your faith whether it is rigid enough to please God.

I evade going to see a Psychiatrists because at times a dependency on someone may be born without intent. That is every decision you make you feel like you have to get certification from your doctor before you recognise it yourself. Personally I feel like that's when depression deepens, when you become too over reliant on someone.

The scenario akin to most of us is facing problems but the difference is on the intensity of those problems and where they are emanating from.

I guess I'm still struggling as you are mate. May God grant us wisdom and much needed enlightenment.
 
Wow, I stumbled onto this page. I am not so technically inclined. I wanted to get involved with a Christian chat room because I am and because I guess at 46, I want to scream and say to all of you what are you talking about. Perhaps, at 20 or so I felt that way at one time or another...until one day I had an accident one year after my marriage that left me paralyzed from the hip down on the right side for ten years. I had smached my sciatic nerve, or so my some 18 doctors said. On your own can you - Tell me can you brush your teeth, go to the bathroom, give yourself a bath and yes you can name the so many other unables. If you will allow me I will take you on a journey that will create a life of total bliss and paradise for you. Everything that is happening in your life, you've invited it and it will never go away until you stop it. You are responsible for you not God, he paid the price with his precious blood, suffering and shame that he took to calvary. God does not answer prayers, he answers before I am fininshed asking. I wished you knew or can discover your power and who you are, where you came from. What your life is meant to be. ps. The doctors said - i would never be able to walk again, I am. I used every dime on my recovery - now I am one of the richest people I know and do you know why. My heavenly father and your heavenly father owns the world, that makes us his heirs. First of all you have no right to yell at anyone. Secondly I'm sorry for what you had to go through. Third, no one here blamed God for anything. We didn't invite this stuff either. You want to explain to me how someone, a baby, not a year old, and the other one is only 3 years old, could invite the parents to decide they want to abandon them, choose drugs, drinking, men, women, etc. over their children? They can't! Why the one that's not even a year old can't even talk yet! You want to explain how someone can invite finding a loved one dead, losing loved ones and friends suddenly, abuse, rape, etc. You can't explain that, those things are NOT invited at all.To be perfectly honest with you, sounds more like you got a pity party going on here. Whereas we had testimonies going on, we shared our testimony/inspirational TRUE life stories of what the Lord has done for us, how He delivered us, and helped us through those things. You sound rather bitter that you had so many years of your life put on hold, that's understandable...but it does NOT justify you wanting to yell at others, and tell them it's all their fault these things happened to them, or telling them they invited such things into their life. you weren't there, you aren't them, you aren't God, so who are you to judge and say oh you invited these things into your life? You have NO right whatsoever to do such a thing. At any rate, praise God for allowing you to be on this site, for blessing you, for doing all He has done for you and all others. Depression and anxiety can hit someone at any age. Prayer is definately the answer to your problem. But, you also need to see a medical doctor to make sure there are no physical problems, and a psychiatrist to determine if you need medication or therapy or both. The earlier you are when depression hits, the better the chance it will recur. The earlier you get treatment, the better you will feel.

In our lives rain falls. It falls on everyone. Sometimes, its a gentle spring rain and we face it. Sometimes, its a steady pouring rain and we need the umbrella of the Holy Ghost to help us. Sometimes its a hurricane, and no one but God himself, is going to get you through it.

As a good friend told me, when you are lost and afraid, try Psalm 91 and find refuge in God. He is the only safe place where the rain doesnt fall.

this might sound wierd to u but have u tryed docter perscribed "happy pills" i am on meds - give them time and therapy might help right? and dont give up - even if the only thing u can think of is ppl that care abt u and how they would feel if something happend to u. good luck !
 
well here is my post about "being scared" thought you might want to read it so here it is

well alot of times you may get scared, scared of a death or scared of some new disease now if i am not mistaken being scared is the same as being worried well here are a couple of verses that should help you through being scared

Joshua 1:9

-Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your GOD will be with you wherever you go.

This is one of my favorite versus on how to not be scared of little things.


Mathew 10:29-31:

-"Not one sparrow (what do they cost? Two for a penny?) can fall to the ground without your father knowing it. And the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don't worry! You are more valuable to him than many sparrows."

This verse tells me not to worry fourth my father "GOD" is watching over me saying just dont worry because i am here and you are worth more than any earthly item

Philippians 4:6-7

- "Don't worry about anything; instead pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don't forget to thank him for his answers. If you do this, you will experience God's peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus."

This verse is my favorite verse of all, it says don't worry! pray about everything!! and don't just lay back and and accept thank him! and I tell you from experience Gods peace is amazing, have the trust of god is wonderful knowing he is right there!! is an incredible feeling and keep your thoughts quiet like when the devil tries to talk you into something you know you shouldn't do just keep it quiet and god will speak t you through our simple human body's!

1 Peter 5:7

-"let [God] have all your worries and cares, for he is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you."

This verse is another favorite, just put all your troubles and worries before God fourth he is watching your concerns, don't act upon your concerns though, fourth God will take care of them!


and that concludes my studies on being scared... for now anyways

Thank you! I agree that everything you wrote is right for you and if it makes you happy all the better. I also agree that everything I wrote is right and in harmony for me. People are free to choose what works for them and leave what does not. I voice my opinion exactly the way you voiced yours. I am not going to make you wrong as you did me, I just don't believe that is the free will God gave us. I would like to share this though - all the suffering around us with all the children, death and all - who invited that in, in one way or another, think about it not all of us, included my own accident. Yes, I did invited that in, my husband insisted not to go out when I did, I did anyways. Just like God made an agreement with Adam and Eve not to eat the fruit. Yes, I believe we invited it all in. Cause and effect - you cannot plant corn and get rice. We serve a very sovereign most important creator, I believe he is in control of it all. Tell me something and I did a survey. The majority of christians I know - when they get on their knees, the majority of the times their prayers are - complaints to God, I need more of this, help this, do that, do this, gimme, gimme. How often do we get on our knees and cry out to God about his beauty, his love, father wrap me in your arms, lay my head on your heart and soak me with more of you, how much I appreciate you, sometimes I believe God does not want me to quote scripture, but show him my heart the new morning, the sunset, the sunrise, your glory, I longed to be with you in your worship. I can hardly wait to leave planet earth that I may worship you night and day. I challenge you to try this on and you will see less suffering and more joy and happiness. God made us in his image and his likeness, go to the previous verses, you will get and idea of his image and likeness - he spoke the world into being and I speak mine. Look around you, everything was a thought, spoken and came into being, up to the very breath you breath. I prefer to be in a place of appreciation because I know the God I serve and you are free to voice your opinion on who is responsible for what, I have observed in my life what I give my attention, more of it shows up. I love to live in the joy that Jesus said he cam to full, he also said to me why worry. He also said ask whatsoever you will of the father in my name and it is yours, he did not ask whatsoever you will except, he also said when you prayer believe you have what you ask for and shall have it. I enjoy living this life as he purposed it, I believe our thoughts drives our beliefs, I am always watchful for the thoughts I am thinking....In appreciation for all that Jesus did, doing and continues to do may you Lord be lifted up for everlasting to everlasting always.

I didn't make you wrong. Sometimes, things like a certain accident can be 'invited in' when we go 'looking for trouble' or whatever, and we don't listen. However, things such as a parent abandoning their children, people dying, etc. we have no control over. There's no possible way at not even a year old, I invited my parents to go and leave like that. I'm thankful for what happened it was truly a blessing.

As for the praying situation, I DO take time to just say prayers of thanksgiving, honor,praise, and glory to Him. I'm very baffled when it comes to the majority of Christians and those that call themselves Christians, they want to ask and take, but not give. It's disgusting to say the least. That's why I take such a strong stand and tell them, listen, get over this poor poor pitiful me act you have going, wanting to just ask because you feel you're so ''in need'' just be grateful.

I don't accept that we don't always invite things to happen, because it 'makes me feel better' I accept it, because I know that we can't control things all the time. God's in control, total control. We do however, have the power of Christ within us. We have to power to tell a mountain to move in Jesus name, and it will move, we have the power to say Satan get thee behind me in the name of Jesus, and he will...and so on. However some things we can't control. Sometimes things are just beyond our control.

I'm not 'hard on myself' I'm simply dedicated to the Lord, and humble. I accept that I can only do so much as a human, and that I must place all my trust and faith in Him, which I do. We can't control all things, that's impossible. The Lord can though, for He's all powerful! Almighty, leading us, guiding us, protecting us. Yes we can and sometimes do lead ourselves into situations where we ask for something to happen, or 'invite it' however, there's many things, we don't. They just happen. You feel the way you want, I respect that, however it doesn't mean I'm wrong. I'm not. I spoke what I felt he Lord said for me to say.God bless.
 
Ephesians 6:12-18...read it,pray over it, claim it. Those things are what you're wrestling with. God is powerful, and can handle all things. Turn it over to Him.
