Sometimes I have these deep feelings of immenent loss.
I'm not sure why, but it will overtake me, and I become quiet, and detatched.
Even moreso, the feeling associates itself with my mom, of whom I am EXTREMELY close to.
the feeling comes on, and I automatically think about loosing her. (In particular)
It is in times like this however, that I find rest in the awesomeness of our Lord. Knowing the promises he has for those who are in Christ. I trust in his word, but I am overwhelmed with Great Sadness.
I have had this for many years myself, I finally found peace when I saw it was a call to pray.
Often I do not know who for or why, but the Holy Spirit does call one in this way to pray.
There are many times though that a name or person is put on my heart in Jesus.
I found that knowing who or what, increaced with obedience in faith over time to pray.
Saddness can also be because of something unresolved in Spirit, but ussully the saddness will increace if ignored or unresolved.
You are doing the perfect by giving all in Jesus to God, for He will bring understanding to you through the Holy Spirit.
I'm not sure trusting in God and feeling sad are mutually exclusive. (I just hope the enemy doesn't make you feel like, you know, "if you really trusted God this wouldn't happen, etc" which would be a lie)
My cousin and dear friend since childhood is a close friend, but lives 700 miles away. The only person in her life she's got a real emotional bond with who's nearby is her mom (my fave auntie!). My Aunt is in her mid 80s, and we know she will go to be with the Lord one day, and that sort of...terrifies my cousin, because she thinks she will be so alone when that happens. (she's not saved) Other than encouraging her to see the love God has for her, and letting her know I'll be here, I don't know how to help her.
Is your mom your best friend, too? Regaredless, she's obviously someone you fear losing. (understandable! and apologies if fear is too strong a word)
I feel that way about my kiddos from time to time. I'm afraid the Lord will take them Home, and I will feel bereft! (especially since my sis lost her 9 yo son a few years ago) It is v-e-r-y hard for me to give them to the Lord, and to, in faith, ask Him to control their futures and all that has to do with them. I guess I'm a recovering control freak.(at least, I hope I'm recovering! lol)
So I admire your will to focus on the Lord and place your trust in Him. My guess is the more you do that, the less you will feel this Great Sadness--so beautifully put, Strong1.

Yes, My mother and I are extremely close, and I guess the fact that I lost my brother three years ago to a senseless act, It does nt help much. Yes, that death is still unresolved.
You're very insightful............One thing i have learned is that the truth of God's Word, and our emotions, rarely have anything in common. I'll lean toward the truth. Always.
