Sorry I should have been more specific. She was ordained through the Methodist church.
That's not saying much. The Methodist organization is not known for biblical standards. Seems almost like they will ordain just about anybody even those who are not saved.

Love you too sis xx
Yea well through salvation we are brought into the spirit.
Ive met woman AND male pastors who have nearly blown me away. When I look into scriptures I dont see anything saying '' Woman can be everything BUT pastors".
It talks about authority over a man in marriage, which if you look back into the times back then it makes loads of sense.
Woman and men being seperated, one left and other on the right. Then them yelling over ''HEY HONEY WAT DID THAT VERSE JUST MEAN!!" and chaos just exploded so Paul told em to be silent and ask at home so they dont keep disrupting the service
People didnt sit together in service the way it is today. Also these woman were of Pagan background, preaching pagan laws and all.
Which if I would have been Paul, I would have told them to shut up too.

God has always used woman in a diversity of roles and I am very sure there actually were female pastors. When I look into Romans 16 and I look at the greek word used for ''servant'' I see that it is the same as minister in men.
So that could give a hint that some Woman actually were Ministers/Pastors as well.
I agree that a woman shouldnt practice any crazy power over men in marriage, which that verse is about imo. But I dont see God limiting them in serving him in all ways the way also men do.
Thats just me tho
And if you really made it through reading my whole post, I have a cookie for you :p xx

Chocolate Chip please.

1 Timothy 2:1-15 (NASB)
[SUP]1 [/SUP] First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men,
[SUP]2 [/SUP] for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.
[SUP]3 [/SUP] This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,
[SUP]4 [/SUP] who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
[SUP]5 [/SUP] For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
[SUP]6 [/SUP] who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony given at the proper time.
[SUP]7 [/SUP] For this I was appointed a preacher and an apostle (I am telling the truth, I am not lying) as a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.
[SUP]8 [/SUP] Therefore I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and dissension.
[SUP]9 [/SUP] Likewise, I want women to adorn themselves with proper clothing, modestly and discreetly, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly garments,
[SUP]10 [/SUP] but rather by means of good works, as is proper for women making a claim to godliness.
[SUP]11 [/SUP] A woman must quietly receive instruction with entire submissiveness.
[SUP]12 [/SUP] But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet.
[SUP]13 [/SUP] For it was Adam who was first created, and then Eve.
[SUP]14 [/SUP] And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression.
[SUP]15 [/SUP] But women will be preserved through the bearing of children if they continue in faith and love and sanctity with self-restraint.

If you read the very fist part of Chapter 2 he is definitely talking about preaching because he mentions it. Then he goes on to discuss how men and women should behave. Chapter 3 then goes into overseers and deacons. This entire message is about leadership in the Church not solely about marriage.

Now before all of you claim I'm a pig and a hypocrite lol. My wife and I are joint in my family when it comes to decision making. Now when it comes to our faith, she gives me the final say on almost everything. Just last week she mentioned we should go to a Catholic church and I basically put my foot down and told her she was crazy; in a very loving tone.

We talked about it and I had to remind her how much different the Catholic church was when it comes to our faith and beliefs. I went out of town for work and when I got back she said she had prayed about it and came to the same conclusion as I did. As a couple we work things out together and usually come to the same conclusions on things. When it comes to our faith, I kinda have to nudge her in the right direction with the Lords help.

While reading all of this pro and against woman pastors I kinda wonder about one things here
Why are people limiting God to only men?

You should probably read the "against" points again, if you wonder why do we limit the church' leadership to men only :)

When it come to faith some women are married to unbelieving men, so God does not command them to spiritually follow their lead but to respect theit husbands and SUBMIT to their earthly authority.

uhuh the word kings are literaly ''a kingdom" or ''king/kingship" which referrs to the standard and not a gender. Or the place Kingdom
which this word comes up many times and only in this verse some translate it as ''kings" as it is a ''kingdom"
βασιλείαν (basileian)
Revelation 5:10 N-AFS
GRK: θεῷ ἡμῶν βασιλείαν καὶ ἱερεῖς
NAS: You have made them [to be] a kingdom and priests

Also the word for Priests ''hiereis" is not the masculine form hereus.
ἱερεῖς (hiereis)

So that try is, for me, disqualified to consider

Revelation 5:10

And hast made us unto our God kings and priests:
and we shall reign on the earth.

Only Men are kings and priests.

Brother
God speaks in riddles :p but yet everyone knew what I was talking about :p So maybe it was my anointing to test and prove you wrong LOL!!

Yes about how woman are supposed to behave in church and then binding in how to behave towards your hubby in marriage while in church :p
We dont have to agree with everything i guess.

I think you better go back and study.

Female missionaries? How do we feel about that situation. I dont hear a lot said against female missionaries....

Well, since you have no regard for anything Paul wrote it will do no good to try to explain anything to you so, I am going to leave it right here.
That's not true. You are misrepresenting me. I think Paul was a great man. There is much to learn from him. I keep saying that. But I don't think we are required to obey him, and Paul himself said we are under no law.

Whaaaaat? Are you crazy woman lol. JK. I guess my question would be, as a missionary would you be in authority over men or would that missionary be there to help out in some way?

theyre not the same words. Theyre related but not the same
βασιλείαν (basileian) aint the same as what you found
βασιλεύς

[TD]basileus[/TD]
[TD]Which indeed yours in masculine, just mine aint[/TD]

You used the wrong Greek word not me.
The one I used is the one used by Strong Concordance for that verse.

King means King not kingdom.

932 basileía (from 935 /basileús, "king") – properly, kingdom; the realm in which a king sovereignly rules.
From basileus; properly, royalty, i.e. (abstractly) rule, or (concretely) a realm (literally or figuratively) -- kingdom, + reign.

U got it wrong or we both got it wrong xD

It doesn't say anywhere that He told her to preach it. He said to tell His disciples.

Your weighing apples to oranges, to preach the word is to speak the word, to tell the word,

No man can telepath the word, man has to speak, tell, preach it.

U gots it wrong or we both got it wrong xD

This is real easy

The verse in English is stated as such...

Revelation 5:10
And hast made us unto our God kings and priests:
and we shall reign on the earth.

You stated that the word kings
in this verse is not kings
but kingdoms.

Therefore you have to believe
that "us" is kingdoms.

So it should actually read as such according to you...

And hast made us unto our God kingdoms and priests:
and we shall reign on the earth.

I am certain I am right and you are wrong.
I am not going to bother to argue with you
your theory of priest not being men.

So I guess we can go to a couple scriptures that lay out requirements for an overseer and deacon. Do pastors fall under any of these?

1 Timothy 3: 1-7
Titus 1:5-9

So they both claim that a deacon or overseer needs to be a husband of one wife.

1 Timothy 3:1-2 (NASB)
[SUP]1 [/SUP] It is a trustworthy statement: if any man aspires to the office of overseer, it is a fine work he desires to do.
[SUP]2 [/SUP] An overseer, then, must be above reproach, the husband of one wife

So again do pastors fall under this rule? I'm not no scholar on greek so the things I posted come from a program I have so if husband and wife have different meanings than what I posted please provide other interpretations.

Your weighing apples to oranges, to preach the word is to speak the word, to tell the word,

No man can telepath the word, man has to speak, tell, preach it.

ok so we are then preaching at each other. Thanks for the clarification.
