So I used to have some Femisitic ideals about me, (believe it or not).
And my past girl friend and I seemed to drift further apart the more I tried to be the man I thought women wanted.
One day I proudly stated that I wanted a woman who is in charge, and she harshly replied "I know" and it kinda shook my world.
The more I tried to be catering to her, and letting her take the lead, the less she seemed to like me.
Anyways that past few sentences might not have any significance to you, but to me they mean a lot now.
I had another girl tell me a few days ago, "Women love the modern man like we love a puppy dog". She also followed with "the reason I think so many girls go for the 'bad guys', is because they seem to be the only guys who act like men anymore".
This made me puzzle...
The modern man from kindergarten has been told to sit down, shut up, don't lead, don't take charge, don't use any energy, listen more, and everyone is equal.
By the time we get to Highschool, we are told: you need communication, equality works best, lead in a "positive" way, etc.
By the time we get to college, we are told: Women need to step up, Men are the same as women, Women can do anything a man can do, Don't be chauvinistic, stop the persecution of women, communication is key, social networking is the future, we need to nurture the earth, and etc.
By the time we get a job, we are shown: Personal connections create opportunities, social networking is the future, communication is key, energy is forbidden, don't use brute strength, everyone is equal, and depending on your job, you can see your promotion go to someone else due to a quota.
A mans whole life we are told to be less like men if we want to thrive...
The qualities a man has to offer society are very quickly becoming useless.
Television depicts the father as stupid, dependent 'souly' on his witty children and unfailing wife for his every mistake.
Media depicts men as being everything I have stated above and so much more...
Even the way relationships are portrayed in today's media, the more you let your woman lead, the happier the relationship.
Yet it backlashes violently...
Before I continue my rant I want to pause...
I am not saying that we need to abuse women and treat them like dirt... That is not my case, or my solution...
I am just saying, I think someone needs to help show men how to be leaders, because society is only showing us the opposite.
The church needs to show us how to be men...
I go to church, and I sing a song about Jesus being my boyfriend, then I listen to a sermon about how to love people, or how to forgive, or how to nurture, or how to deal with hurt, or sorrow, or my emotions...
We stop in the middle of Church to go talk to strangers about our weeks and catch up on all the 'gossip'.
I am not saying men don't have needs for this...
But a man has a different mindset than a woman... When I look at Christ, I don't see a "caring boyfriend" (cliche')... I see a Man who was whipped one lash short of death, who walked till his legs gave out and then walked some more, who carried a cross that buckled his body underneath Him, and did it all to protect the ones He loves...
For a modern male it is easy to see how to be a man when you are in a war type environment... We got movies like BraveHeart and Gladiator.
But how do you be a man at the home, or with your friends, or with a woman...
This is seriously driving me crazy.
Anyways I think everyone gets the idea of my rant so I will stop...
