Hello, first post. I'm in need of some prayers.

It's been a few months since I was dumped by last serious girlfriend, and it's been a hard recovery. I need reassurance that I won't be alone for my entire life, that I can find a love, and a companion. I want to change my behaviours that repel and hurt those I fall in love with. I need prayers that I can get over my pain and heartbreak. I hope that, in some way, things between me and the girls of my past relationships can be repaired and forgiven, from both sides. I want the opportunities and things that will enable me to find a love that I can share my life with, or at least someone who will get me from here to there. I want to develop and grow. I want to become a more likable and charismatic person, and to overcome my insecurity I get every time I have to start from "square one" again. It feels selfish to ask for this, but I'm not comfortable with where I am right now, and something needs to change for me.

If you respond to this, thanks for your help.

It's good that you have felt you can post here and I am sure you will recieve lots of loving prayer. I just wanted to ask first though...because it is so terribly important, are you in a safe, repentant relationship with Jesus Christ, believing you are a sinner and He died for you? I do not wish to offend, just checking!! God Bless <><

Hi Nil

Glad to meet you. Yeah, I guess us guys are not very good at dealing with break ups and I don't think the women are much better. I wish I had some amazing advice for you but all I can say is be comfortable with yourself and others will feel comfortable around you. Just doing that around others might be a small step forward. God bless.

Hey Nil, my advice for you is to right yourself with God. Give him all your worries and troubles, and strive for a personal relationship with him. I know it sounds crazy but all things are possible through God. I know God is a living God and takes place in our every day lives.

-1Thessalonians 1:4-7
4 We know, dear brothers and sisters, that God loves you and has chosen you to be his own people. 5 For when we brought you the Good News, it was not only with words but also with power, for the Holy Spirit gave you full assurance[c] that what we said was true. And you know of our concern for you from the way we lived when we were with you. 6 So you received the message with joy from the Holy Spirit in spite of the severe suffering it brought you. In this way, you imitated both us and the Lord. 7 As a result, you have become an example to all the believers in Greece—throughout both Macedonia and Achaia.

-Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.

I agree with T_Laurich.

Take this time to get closer with God. Develop a deeper relationship with God. It's a wonderful opportunity to fully understand your wants vs. your needs. I broke up with my boyfriend in December and this has been the best time of my life... in a long time. It's been just me and God. And we're having a great time!

Praying your time with God is fruitful and comforting.

all what my fellow Christians are saying is true. be sure that you can survive with God and without a girlfriend. i used to imagine i cant do without a boy friend until i met Christ and now it's more that 1 year and am so great. Loneliness comes but you have to accept your better than the feelings that control you. Get time to read the bible and pray. Find christian friends then you will see the difference between Godly love(that never fails) and Human love(that never satisfies). Build a relationship with God and he Will draw the right people, and wife to be, next to your heart.
i will be your first christian friend hoping you will give me a chance to serve you as Christ did

God Bless friend and as all have suggested, place this in God's hands, he knows your heart's desires and needs. First seek him and be in harmony with him, the rest will come in due time :)

As for overcoming what has happened, dont beat your self up over things done, instead learn the lesson and let it be a foundation to how you will build and share your self in life. Ask God for forgiveness, believe in him, and follow him!

I will be keeping you in my prayers:) God Bless!!

It feels selfish to ask for this, but I'm not comfortable with where I am right now, and something needs to change for me.
Bingo! Of course you can be reassured of not being alone and finding love; but I digress, I am referring to the epitome of love. You can feel lonely, but as a follower in Christ, you are never "alone".

That being said, I think we relate very much here. If you are working on winning God's favor, He will see your heart, and answer your prayer(s). And we'll keep you in our prayers too!

God's blessings on you. There isn't a doubt in my mind-you will find love again. Here's the thing, you need to be able to develop and grow-get from here to there totally on your own. Then my friend, you will be able to share it with someone else. You don't want to be in a relationship just to say you are in one. You need time to learn from your last relationship, and to get over it first. You also said you want to change your past issues that hurt others, you need to take the time to figure that out and fix it, so your next relationship is healthy for both of you. It's great insight to realize you aren't happy and you need change in your life. There is many things you could create for yourself besides looking for a new relationship. Do you have a pastor or friend you could talk to about this? You have lots of time. God bless.
