A personal testimony..
I never thought God was in the simplicity of silence.
So I made noise.
I demanded emotions.
Noise increased.
Emotions arose.
Creating an impression that God was there.
In the end, I realized, I was just experiencing...
Noise
Emotion
God is in the still simple silence.
His voice screams at us from the still pages of his word.
We miss it when we refuse to find him in this simplicity.
A loud noise heard, and a strong emotion felt, doesn't mean God has necessarily drawn near.
In fact he has already drawn near.
In Christ.
In the simple silence.
In his written word.
Is that enough?
It should be.
Disclaimer: Any excessive absolutizing is most likely hyperbolic in nature to make a point.
