During the recent times in prayer I have been lead back to the words from the Emma Lazarus poem “The New Colossus.” The statement as followers:
“Give me your tired, your poor,

Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”
Foreigner’s or years came to our shores in the hope of promise and a better life during a time when our nation was mission ministry based. Now we want to close our borders and keep terror from coming here. It’ seems to me that our nation has lost a hold of our primary mission.
WE FIGHT TERROR FROM FEAR BUT HAVE LOST THE GOLDEN DOOR OF SPREADING HOPE. We no longer see the light or the hope of Christ because are focused on the pressing crushing weight of debt. We fear we will be attacked again. We feel obligated to fighting losing ground on gay rights issues. We cannot lead in fear and anger. We need to rekindle lamp of Christ the hope of glory. We need to call out for God to give us the opportunity to the light and hope of the nations again in light and love of Christ. The fire of the Holy Spirit burning and purifying the masses of living sacrifices acceptable as fragrance of life before the world and the living Word in us. Allowing Spirit’s living breath and oil to pour out of us and cutting it off.

debt might be one of the main deciding factors, humanly speaking. (God directs even the hearts of kings, and sets the boundaries of all the nations, ultimately, finally, and certainly).

as long as everyone seeks their own rights, or money(s)(entitlements or higher wages/etc),
instead
of <surrender to Christ, repenting of all sin, seeking to serve God in TRUTH.. (every day)..>

or as the 'common' popular prayer goes IF MY people, who are called by MY NAME,
...will..... turn from their wicked ways;

and pray, humbling themselves, .... then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

What's your hope in -- the USA or God?

I've had enough grounding in history to know America has already slid off the slippery slope. We're free falling, but it's just the beginning of the tumble and a very steep cliff.

God could Nineveh us. But, if you haven't noticed, Nineveh is gone. We're either Nineveh before Jonah or Rome after Caesar. I have no hope in the US. God may send another revival, but that doesn't change my hope. I have no hope in the US. All my hope is in God.
