Lynx was allergic to McDonald's until Finishing School cured him. Now he's just allergic to dairy and frogs.
I have eaten frog legs before with no ill effects.

The only allergies of which I am aware are dairy and shellfish.

I am used to making my own parties where I can cry if I want to.

It will be interesting to see if I can hack a swanky party, maybe it will be like Cinderella at the ball?

I have been to a few balls, but there were no handsome princes there. They were just school or university ones, basically where you where fancy dress/ball gown, have makeup and hair done and heels but it just ends up dancing like you'd do at a night club anyway. lol
If you go to a ball you can just play hard-to-get, you know, just act natural.
Actually I do not get the chance to go to many, I went to a library conference where they had one, and on a cruise they were meant to have one, but I don't remember too much about that. I really don't do small talk.
You don't do small talk?
At high teas, I don't know where to put my handbag and what you are supposed to talk about other than my word, this scone is delicious! Sorry, I don't have any gossip about anyone.
When I'm on the high teas I'm afraid of capsizing on my teacup saucer.
I'm at yum cha where sometimes I just eat instead of what you meant to do, talk loudly and fuss about the food and argue about paying the bill. But thats just enjoying yourself.

From what I hear, small talk is every single line of the gone with the wind sequel.

I think there were ill effects for the frog. You are a cruel man.

Mmm... I'm pretty sure you're allergic to frogs. Texasgal confirmed that.

So what happens when you eat shellfish? Hives?
My throat closes up and the sides of my tongue hurt. And that was when I ate one bite of egg foo yung, and it had shrimp in it. I don't dare even contemplate what would happen if I made a meal of it.

I tend to do big talks, but I don't like to do them in front of people, because then it ends up like I'm trying to do a soliloquy, and I don't think people like my soliloquies.

Yes I like to talk about the weather, that's one thing I can do, other than say I'm fine, but if people really want to know the weather, I can't say 'I'm cloudy' or "i'm sunshine' or 'I'm a rainbow'. They'd just look at me funny.

Are your ancestors Jewish or something. Can you eat milk and meat together? Can you eat shellfish or crustaceans? Does God want you to keep kosher, otherwise, it could kill you?

Scotch irish. And I can eat anything except shellfish without danger to my life. Dairy just causes mild inconvenience sometimes.

So you can eat..stewed haggis?
Do you eat that on a regular basis?

Eek! That would freak me out.

Well, if you had any interest in enjoying shellfish or reduce risk of accidental exposure... today exposure therapy has been shown to extinguish allergies, including peanut. Which I think is very cool. I was allergic to olives, but now I'm not thru my own step exposure to it. Obvious warning to everyone, it has to be done properly... carefully observed micro dose schedules with severe cases.

As with so many other things, just because you can doesn't mean you should. And just because I can doesn't mean I will. In this case, in point of fact, I won't.

That was cute though. Real cute.

Do you use a hanky, a tissue, or do you blow your nose on your sleeve?

I am sure finishing school would teach you the appropriate and right way to deal with a runny nose, cough, or sneeze.

I am a terrible sneezer. It sounds like an explosion. I used to sneeze and at the end I would say oh, (achoo-oh) I was trying to beg people's pardon, but my sister said just stop sneezing you are too loud!

I always warn people that I might sneeze and then sort of back away from them. Or run out the room.

Also, how to cry and laugh without making others cry and laugh as well.

Apparently crying is ugly, and you are not supposed to laugh or make others laugh in certain situations. But how am I supposed to know all this.

Maybe Finishing School gives you onions, and you learn how to dry your tears properly so as not to make a mess. And when you laugh you should not open your mouth too far or roll on the floor.

Actually my sinuses have a frivolous habit of firing off sneezes at random, with or without dairy to provoke it. So I have developed the peculiar ability to sneeze without expectoration. It is a rather odd ability and I wish I had not had to develop it.

There was a sequel to Gone With the Wind?

Oh... another author wrote a sequel "Scarlett" and it was made into a TV miniseries in 1991. Sounds dreadful. She should have titled it, "Not totally Gone with the Wind".

I thought small talk was like this but actually small talk is people talking about nothing in particular, just for the sake of talking to someone.
Maybe Finishing School helps one step up from small talk to big talk... Reminds me of this scene from Love and Death (1975)
