Or Scarlett: She's a goner. There was a sequel to Gone With the Wind?
Oh... another author wrote a sequel "Scarlett" and it was made into a TV miniseries in 1991. Sounds dreadful. She should have titled it, "Not totally Gone with the Wind".
It breaks my heart to see Gone with the Wind at the end when she's crying on the stairs and Rhett leaves her.
'Here, take my handkerchief. Never at any crisis in your life, have I known you to have a handkerchief.'
What she usually does is cry into her sleeve or her curtains or onto Rhett's shirt.
Margaret Mitchell never wrote a sequel, it was too much for her after the 1036 page book (longer than the Bible?) but she did say if she ever wrote one it would be called 'Back with the Breeze'
