Hi people,

Been long since I started a thread. It's time now I guess. Here I go.. I've been getting dreams in which I fly. I actually want to run but as I take speed, I start flying very high and at uncontrollable, immeasurable speeds. Though I don't feel bad during or after the dream, i'm just thrilled and excited. I'm wondering why it happens often.

Has anyone here been flying in your dreams? If yes, how do you feel when you wake up?

I never have, but my dad has had them all his life. He has the same reactions, thrilled during the dreams, but not much upon waking. I wouldn't read anything into it though. its just a dream.

I do it every so often. And in the dream, I always think, "finally this time it's not a dream, and it's for real". I have read this is normal, and has some kind of biological cause.

Yes, i do and have in many dreams over the past 30+ years, always with proclaiming the Lord teaching and out of the reach of people trying to caught me. In the dreams i always felt the intense presence of the Lord Jesus and the Father i wake still in the sensation of His presence, other than the obvious content of the dream i never asked the Lord why i am flying because i feel His presence that was and is enough for me. Then about a year ago the Lord revealed to me, even though i never asked Him, why i was and am in the air flying.

Woww that's cool.. Feeling His presence during the dream is what I've felt often, too. It's a totally good feeling :-)

You will at least in Heaven maybe in the harpazo(snatching caughting up) and maybe in the out pouring of the Holy Spirit soon to come, wow that will be ecstacy:D

Falling from great heights, yes. Teleporting from one scary dream to another, yes. But I've never flown in a dream. Interesting. And yummy food doesn't seem to have any taste there either.

When I was a teen I used to have dreams exactly as you described. In a couple of them I think I may have actually been outside my body...but that is a whole other topic.

They say that dreams use pictures of physical things to represent our feelings to us, so each dream is very personal to each person. Flying can express the feeling that you are above a circustance in your life, it is all in control. Even that you are seeing your life through God's eyes. And it can mean you feel out of touch, your feet just aren't on the ground.

I think that sometimes God speaks to us through dreams, even though it can lead us very wrong to say that is always so. Dreams never have the best say so in our lives, but scripture always does.

I would love to fly, it must be awesome. I have recurring dreams every night of driving in a car and getting hopelessly lost and I am late for something. There is always a car in my dreams and always friends from my past and family members. Usually these are in nightmare forms.

Yea, I've also had the out-of-the-body experience.. it was fantastic cos my spirit was with Jesus for a whole night!

When I was a kid and teen, I used to have flying dreams all the time. But as I got older... close to age 18, I had to really struggle in the dreams to keep in flight for any length of time.
What I find interesting is that was the age when I started to doubt God existed, but I struggled like you have no idea to keep believing.
I went about 6 or 7 years without having a single flying dream after that. Then, as I began to explore my more spiritual side, I began to have flight dreams again. Not as frequently as before, but when I do have them, I don't have to struggle to keep off the ground anymore. I know deep down there is a God now, even though I can't believe in the way that I did when I was a kid, I've accepted that my beliefs have changed form. Not gone away.

For me personally, my dreams represent having faith and feelings of freedom. Like Red Tent said, everyone has their own personal dream meanings.
