You are what you think! God who created the human mind, reads our mind like an open book! Even though God's omniscience has known everything we will ever think in eternity past(Hebrew 4;13), He allows us freedom of thought and freedom of choice. However, God holds us responsible for what we think or choose, so our thinking is all-important.

Proverbs 23:7 actually refers to a person with a stingy attitude, and warns us to be wary of someone like that when they invite us to share in their food and drink.

I think a more relevant scripture to what you're trying to say would be Proverbs 27:19:

As water reflects a face, so a man's heart reflects the man. - (Proverbs 27:19 NIV)

God bless.
