I envy you females alittle bit. You guys are lucky.
You have A friend, A God, A Savior, A Lord, A Comforter, and you can even call him your Lover. You guys have Jesus Christ as your lover and alot more. While, we males we only know him as A Friend, Savior, Lord, God and if we call him our Comforter or Lover people will think we are crazy or weird. :)

So I wonder why you females are wondering and worrying about whether you're single or not. We should be the ones worrying because if Jesus Christ have all the women who will be left for us to love or to love us. Unless he sent you guys to us. JUST A FRUIT FOR THOUGHT. :)

Uh.... well, um.... ducky, what can I say even though we loveGod and Jesus...we need a male companion too i mean were only human right?

Since when can a man not called God his comforter? I've never heard such a thing, quite the opposite actually.

And i never hear anyone refer to God as their 'lover' as that would be kind of .. blasphemous.
lov·er

/ˈləvər/
Noun

  • A person having a sexual or romantic relationship with someone, esp. outside marriage.

There is another usage of the word lover. Such as 'God is the lover of your soul'. Different context, and has no gender effect.

So yeah, i've always heard God being a comforter to both men and women, and never heard women call God their lover (sexual partner).

I am just overflowing with wisdom on this subject. However, since the thread heading is Re: For Females Only, I shall apply some of that wisdom and refrain.

I will probably catch flak for this, but it isn't right when women think of Jesus or God as their husband.

The scripture says that the church (the institution) is the bride, not the members of the church. This is an important distinction because:

1) God is our father. We are his children, not his bride.

2) Jesus is our brother. We are his brothers and sisters, not his bride.

Only the church (the body of Christ as a whole) is the bride during the supper of the Lamb.

The other scripture about the bridesmaid's lamps and the bridegroom is a parable. It does not mean that men and women will get to marry Jesus.

God bless.

I see what you're saying Zero, but the bible also says that He is a Father to the fatherless, and a husband to the widow. :) I do think that it's a fine line between propriety and disrespect though.

Oh yes, the husband to the widow. I forgot about that one. :o I guess its ok then. :)

Men are included in the bride of Christ... The better question is how do men identify with God as a lover. He's all our lover. He's all out husband.

I think a lot of people get up in arms when you use the word lover, intimate, bride of Christ, bridegroom etc when referring to our faith. ESPECIALLY us Westerners who are obsessed with sex and pervert absolutely everything that is totally innocent. No, we do not have a "sexual" relationship with God or Jesus. That's just silly... our relationship is beyond anything we consider a relationship by earthly standards. It's hard to explain. To the OP remember Galations 3:28 that says, "There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus." So don't be envious of us because we are equal in Christ!

Sorry, but I don't agree with your poast. In Christ there is neither male nor female. There is no way Christ can fail to be someone's everything...no matter who they are or what gender they are.

True that. All I was trying to say is that Jesus/God himself need love too you know. It not easy being a God, a Savior etc of over 6 billion people. SHOW THE GUY SOME LOVE:) HEHEHEHE

TRUE THAT. When I say LOVER. I'm not talking about sexual partner. I'm talking about Agape Love. :) HEHEHEHE

As long as this thread has now been "damaged" by other-than-the-OP men posting... :D

The true nature of the relationship is a matter of 'intimacy', but not 'sexuality'.

However, because our sex-crazed society likes to think these two always "go together"...
