Who doesn't like a good movie?

I thought it might be nice to have a place where we can brag on and recommend movies to each other.

What movies did you really enjoy? What movies did you wish you hadn't watched? What movies do you recommend for the whole family?

Going to the cinema is ridiculously expensive in Norway, but I did watch quite a few movies while in Scotland.

What to recommend? Hmmm...

Song for Marion (Drama)
The Help (Drama)
American Sniper (Action/bio/Drama)
Elysium (Sci-fi/Action/Drama)
Earth to Echo ("Family movie", Sci-fi)

Oooooh American Sniper is a good movie! Elysian is also watchable, even though I am not a fan of sci-fi movies at all!

I've seen the Prestige, the Expendables trilogy, the two How to Train Your Dragons, Wall-E, and Gravity.

I must agree that I enjoyed all those but the last. It just wasn't my kind of movie. Too much drama and not enough action, I guess. And I loved the Expendables since, odd as it is, Rambo was my hero from ages 4 to about 14. I just wish it didn't have so much cussing, it's so unnecessary.

I don't usually seek out war documentaries, but when I do start watching them I always enjoy it.

Yeah, I've been meaning to watch American Sniper, but I always forget when I have the chance. It's in the bucket list, though!

A movie that was so unlike what I thought it would be was Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Wonderful! The original Girl With The Dragon Tattoo trilogy was also very good. The Lord of The Rings trilogy was excellent, of course :D

These would be classics:

The Christmas movies:
It’s a Wonderful Life
A Christmas Story

Also:
The Sound of Music
The Great Escape

This isn’t a classic but I liked it:
Mercy Mission: The Rescue of Flight 771

I think I liked the first two Star Wars movies:
Star Wars
The Empire Strikes Back

The "God's not Dead" was good, I have not seen the second one. I need to, though!

I have not seen Game of Thrones, but everybody seems to rave about it. I just hate to engross myself in a show, though, because if I start watching one episode I have to watch the whole season.

I like pretty much anything with action or involving war, especially the civil and world wars.

I do like thrillers, as ling as they are not the scary ones. You are a lot braver than me, I don't handle freaky things very well XD Even I Am Legend was a bit much for me. But I really like historical based movies as well, and things set in the frontier or west.

High Plains Drifter! Anything with Clint Eastwood, I would watch. And most I have.

The Great Escape was a wonderful classic. Steve McQueen, James Garner, and Charles Bronson. What could go wrong?

The others I have not seen, save Star Wars. The first was definitely the best. Pity about Mark Hamill's face in the latter two, though I hate to sound so artificial. But a great movie.
