No one argues that there isn't a struggle against sin, and that it doesn't die bit by bit.
What this thread is about are those who say the struggle is over, and they sin no more.

What eventually happens when this issue is brought up are a few things.

They may come out and say...I never ever sin ever.
Wouldn't that be a sin? I sin when I think I have no sin. Pride does go before the fall.

For the cause of Christ

unclear.
are you testifying to having ceased all sin.
you have no sin....or did i misunderstand.

this thread is for people who have no sin.

In Christ, Christ has wiped away all sin and teaches one how to walk in him, through trust in Father who grows us all up into him, where there is no sin in the Spirit of God

Being in an unredeemed body, that I consider dead, it is always possible to sin in the Future, yet the deeper one is co-crucified with Christ, the deeper one walks in the Spirit of Christ, where all sin is stopped. Therefore I just take day by day, in listening to the Lord for Discernment, I have already answered all these if one will take the timer to read the posts.
I can't predict any future as to whether I will or might sin. I can only trust God day by day, being co-crucified the old self and thus alive to God. If unredeemed flesh is dead by belief, then sin is not possible.
Sorry you are not seeing this truth in Christ in the war between flesh and Spirit and what Paul says to do with our unredeemed flesh

The one who teaches that Christians don't sin ever, will eventually back pedal, and say ...no no no we are still putting sin to death. To which I'd reply...Well then quit saying Christians NEVER sin ever.

Or..

The one who teaches Christians never sin ever, will hedge, dodge, and evade the answer.

or...

The person will change their stance....

or..

They may come out and say...I never ever sin ever.

The struggle is over when you are dead to flesh sin by belief that Is what Paul is trying to get across and John
yet we have Christ as our advocate to make constant intercession for us as we grow as you say bit by bit, until we finalize this fact, are you forgiven by God 100% of the time, via the death of Christ at the cross?
Is God executing any more forgiveness after the cross. on anyone's behalf? Once they see this final death, sacrifice and last shedding of blood. then just maybe one might see the resurrected life God has for them here and now. where in God's Spirit there is no possibility for any more sin.
You see the bit by bit, by your flesh behaving better and better, and just never attaining what God has, past tense already attained for you. He made the death of his Son made you perfect in God the Father's sight, so Father could ive in you and show you the new life you have a free gift from Father to you, thanks be to Christ.

Colossians 1:22 But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation—

Apparently this truth is not yet settled in you, and is why I couldn't see the new life, until I finalized the death of Christ as my death. being co-crucified with Christ

please post here when you last sinned.
i assume you haven't sinned since conversion.

testify!;)

Good Post Zone. I can see where your coming from. Here's some verses from IJohn that makes it clear that after your conversion you cannot sin anymore:

Whosever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for His seed remaineth in him and he cannot sin because he is born of God. We know that whosever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself and that wicked one toucheth him not."(IJohn 3:9, 5:1 and 5:18)

It's not because one is righteous and sinless by themselves, but because the blood of Jesus has washed away all our sins the moment we get saved. Righteousness is automatically imputed upon us when we get saved. (Or at the moment of our conversion)

so wait a second here your trying to tell me you do not sin? LOL so your saying you never look at a woman and lust sometimes you never tell a lie even if it is a small lie? like tell someone you don't have money when you do.. oh please sir we are born in sin it is our nature for the flesh to sin you just don't want to acknowledge that, you my friend are only deceiving yourself If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 1 John 1:8 that is the word of god stop showing forms of holiness and accept it , tell me this if we can't sin after god save us then why did he say this, 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 oh please tell my how you are " perfect " 19 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God. Luke 18:19
Oh Josh,
may I introduce you to Cobus?

Loveme,

Understand what Zone is saying:

have (possess) sin.

My friend, it is written: If we were to say that we do (present indicative (the very now)) not (absolute negative) possess (have) sin, then we do deceive ourselves and the Truth is not in us.

If we were to say this, then we would be saying, "God cannot find anything in me which is contrary to His will." But, we know from the Holy Spirit's conviction that this is not true, seeing that at times He does convict us.

Howbeit, we have yet to receive our glorified bodies. Until then, I am liable to have offended my God by my human nature. But all thanks belong to God that if I were to sin, I have an Advocate with the Father who intercedes on my behalf through His blood.

You have spoken on behalf of zone and from the response from zone i don't think she objects to what you have written that she was trying to say etc..

My concern is what intent was behind this thread.

would it lead to mocking and ridiculing?

i believe we should Keep the Commandments of God.

i believe the Testimony of the Messiah which includes:

Matthew 5

27Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: 28But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. 29And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast itfrom thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. 30And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

of course this is only part and much is required of us.

Then why not take Zone at her word rather than try to 2nd guess her intent?

I too believe that we are to keep the moral Law from God. By such Law does the Spirit lead in love.

As to Matthew 5, though we might have different understandings of this, I too believe in the spiritual aspect of what He was saying to those still under the physical aspect of understanding what God was "relating" when He spoke those things. This reminds me of were Jesus went to the most extreme resistance to stay in line with God's will. We are also told that the one who suffers in the flesh, overcomes sin. To me, nothing is worth losing eternal life over, not even fleeing from torment.

Thank you for listening.

I disobeyed the spirit during service today... the choir got up to sing and I just stayed seated. I kno i should have gotten up. I felt so dirty.

The bible says "for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" and "There is none about earth that doeth good and sinneth not." and "There is none righteous, no, not one."

What this proves is that only those who believe in Jesus are sinless and righteous. Some people might view this as contradictory but here's what I mean: Since nobody can ever be perfect in themselves, no matter hard they try, and since we're all sinners who fall short of the glory of God, then that means that the only way to become righteous and sinless and be able to enter the kingdom of God is to have all your sins forgiven you and washed away, the slate wiped clean, so to speak, and to have righteousness automatically imputed upon you by faith. And the only way that can happen is by believing in Jesus and accepting His blood sacrifice for your sins. Jesus is the only one in all of history who died for the sins of the whole world and rose from the dead. Jesus is the only way to heaven and He's the only one who took your sins upon himself and was punished for them so that you wouldn't have to be. As the Apostle Peter said in Acts. "Neither is there salvation in any other for there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved."

Thank you Homwardbound for your explanations. I can see you get it, but not everyone does. Here's the deal. Without believing in Christ, and accepting Him as Lord you will carry your sin to death. If you accept Him you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit to abide with you and intercess on your behalf with God. This is what makes you a new creation. The Laws were given because they were not in communion spiritually with God possessing His nature. They were all flesh, with a list of dos and don't. We possess His Spirit. We also possess our flesh and along with it the desires. You can't have it both ways. Either you obey the Spirit and live sinless or obey the flesh and live sinful. Dying to the flesh every day means desiring nothing of this world. You don't need to lie be cause you don't have to impress anyone. The desire for sex, money, status, possessions, privilege are the things that cause us to sin. Once you truly could care less about what this world offers even your temptation to sin is squashed. That is when you are "in Christ", "walking in the Spirit". That is why you can't sin. Your only concern is honoring God and loving fellow man. Most Christians walk in the flesh and that is why they can't fathom lack of sinning. The first Christians shared all of their food and belongings, a true brotherhood. Although there is the occational bad thought or indignant outburst I have no problem keeping the commandments but honestly we are required much more than that. We each have a mission and our sinlessness is supposed to give power to our testimony. We are here to spread the Gospel to ends of the earth. I hope this answer was sufficient Zone.

So yo don't ever sin?

No you can't have it either way!

You sin in the flesh.

You sin in the Spirit.

The flesh is just hurting yourself.

The Spirit is hurting others.

Figure out which one your more concerned with; for under-privileged people cannot chose what to eat at will, they eat whatever is provided, and we were to NEVER partake of the fat of the animal, and the fat of the animal is in almost every food these days.

One might not be able to change their food, due to costs.

Doesn't cost anything to change ones Spirit, just time in sincere prayer.

Once one understands this; one is usually more cautious with ones mouth/church, and though we will from time to time blow it; (usually in tribulation) that's what repentance is there for; but don't think your automatically forgiven; REPENT to The Father, and TELL Him, you hurt one of His children.

You know? I have NEVER EVER EVER EVER heard anyone anywhere say they never sin.... accept.... maybe Cobus...

You know? I was just thinking the other day that I just can't imagine that within this lifetime we could ever get to the place where we're totally sinless if you define sin as missing the perfect mark. Even when we don't sin according to the law, we're still working on our thoughts, trying to always be loving, not quick to anger (me), not saying things we regret because we spoke too soon, not resenting what we have in comparison to what others have, not caring enough about others. Etc., etc., etc. All that is sin. We're simply trying to do what God asks, to be perfect as He is perfect. Hence, when any tiny unkind thought occurs, we're sinning and must move to correct that. Yes, under grace, we are saved. But then the process towards perfection begins. When we're finally perfect? Only God knows.
