God talked to me and taught me how to forgive. I would like to share it with you. My husband committed adultery multiple times, after years of this I couldn't take it anymore, and I asked him to leave which he did. It was going on four years, and i still had bitterness and anger. My best friend told me how important it was to forgive, and I wanted to but i didn't know how. I wanted to have a marriage with him, but I couldn't unless he changed. I also knew I had to forgive him either way. One day when I was relaxing I asked God to help me forgive him then I heard a voice in my head and it said "Imagine a hand going inside your heart and pulling out all that bitterness and angry" then the voice said hold your hands out which I did. I imagined seeing the hand dumping it in my hands. I imagined it looked like liquid black tar. Then the voice said "Now imagine that hand going into your head and pulling out all those memories of pain" Then the hand dumped it in my hands. The voice said "Look at that do you want that in you?" I said no then the voice said. "why" I said cause its killing me physically and mentally. Then the voice said what are you going to do with it? Before I could think about what I was going to do with it. I saw Jesus in front of me with his hands out saying "Give it to me". I knew right then how to forgive. God taught me how. First we have to know it's one of God's law to forgive. Then we have to see it for what it is and what it does to us. Unforgiveness causes pain the bitterness and angry causes us to not be able to live in peace and contentment. Forgiveness doesn't mean that the other person was right for what they did. Wrong is wrong no matter what, and you don't have to continue the relationship with other person either for he or she may continue hurting you, but in order to have peace and contentment you must forgive. I hope I was able to teach someone how to forgive like God taught me. God bless you all.

God bless you, Jojo. I also just recently learned that Forgiveness is a great cure. Bitterness and anger ate me up inside out and it only did bad to myself but not to the person who caused me the bitterness. I didn't know how to forgive this person either but somehow God provided me all the helps and tools to forgive him and let it go. Amazingly, after I forgave him I felt free for the first time!

Sister JoJo and sister caw252 both of you could not be more correct! Unforgivness never hurts the person it should! It only hurts ourselves! What we all have found by forgiving is just how important it truly is to preform the will of God!! STAYING!! THANKFUL!! ( 1 thess 5:18!!) We understand how much we ourselfs must stay forgiven in our own life! Are we better then any?? LOL So we release our pain and our sorrow, our hurt and disappointment from others we looked to,we learn sometimes the easy way,and sometimes the hard way, who it is we must look to in every area of our lives!JESUS! In Christ Jesus there is no failure, nor can we ever become forsaken! Good to know, good to believe, and always good to walk in! amen! Thanks sisters for the most helpful reminder!
