Praying! Reading some Bible passages about this subject may also be worth a try...? Remember that by forgiving others, you show Christ through yourself! Some people may need to see our savior.

man I use to be the worlds worst at this , I know exactly the struggle you're talking about ..
"the only thing" that changed my heart was imagining jesus looking over my shoulder at the person he wanted to meet using me as a vessel to reach them .. with that image now comes " Michelle Michelle , remember all I have forgiven you for " go and do likewise".. took mean while to make this a habit and each tine forgiveness is needed I try to meditate and focus on that imagery in my mind ... Sometimes I have to walk away but then He eventually softens my heart .. doesn't mean I have to completely trust , just means I have to completely forgive ..

Also praying for you JJAC. It's easy for us to say we forgive someone, but hard to feel it in our hearts when we've been wronged and badly hurt, especially if it is by someone we loved and trusted. I liked what Powemm had to say in his thread above. I also try to remember what Christ said in the Lord's prayer about forgiving our trespasses as we forgive those that trespass against us. When I remember what God has forgiven me for that I've done wrong in my life, how can I do less. If the person that has wronged you won't admit what they have done or asked forgiveness, forgive him/her anyway and leave the rest in God's hands to judge and work in that person's life in his time and his way. It may take time and repeated prayer to feel like you've completely forgiven this person in your heart, but as followers of Christ it's what we need to do. Good luck and you have many of us praying for you.
