Four Old Testament Types of the Rapture
I realize some people don't like to open these links so I will cut and paste the document into this thread.
I think these four types are like four photographs. No picture gives us the full picture of the rapture, but all four pictures each give us part of the picture of the rapture.
1. One consistent proof is that this takes place during a feast day.
One possible revelation is in the verse that says "Jesus is the firstfruit, and then we who are His at His coming". Jesus was raised from the dead on the first feast of firstfruits. Paul is directly referencing one of the feasts. That indicates that "at His coming" is also a reference to one of the feasts. The Feast of Trumpets, also known as "no one knows the day or hour" is the Feast that announces the coming of the king.
2. A direct connection is made between Samson pushing out the two pillars of the temple to Dagon and 9/11 when the two towers came down. That would be mildly interesting except that this year is the 25th anniversary of 9/11 so you know there will be a celebration around it, and it happens to land on the Feast of Trumpets this year.
3. But it gets better. A peace treaty that causes the whole world to rejoice and say "Peace and Security". Could that refer to a peace treaty that opens up the Strait of Hormuz? We are all familiar with Daniel 9:27 but it is possible that Adonijah trying to usurp the throne from Solomon could give us a different angle on this. A peace treaty with Iran could also be a peace treaty that allows Israel to put the Tabernacle of David on the Temple mount and begin the priestly service. A treaty like that is something that someone could claim to be "the anointed one". It is also usurping the Lord Jesus who is our sacrifice by having these priests begin to sacrifice animals again.
4. But it gets better. Kushner has a plan to rebuild the rubble known as Gaza, the same place that Samson was held prisoner and the place he turned to rubble when he pushed out those two pillars, into a shining new tourist attraction, not unlike Atlantic City. So now the priests are not just worshipping bulls and goats, but this is a "golden calf". It will bring in a whole lot of tourists as they build this trillion dollar development.
This is not prophecy and it is not prediction. It is simply looking at patterns. Ecclesiastes said "that which has been is that which shall be" and the gospel of John said that all things that have come into being came into being through the word of God".
But one fascinating theme is in all these stories and that is that "the apostasy must come first". We see the apostasy with the worship of Dagon and Samson, we see the apostasy with Adonijah trying to usurp the throne, and we see the apostasy with the golden calf at Sinai. But we also see the apostasy on Mt. Carmel when Elijah calls down fire. One question many have is if Elijah calling down fire at Mt. Carmel represents the rapture, then how come we later see Elijah raptured and it isn't Elijah, it is Elisha that would flee into the wilderness? This answers that question as well.
