Someone with Fraps should make a 5 minute video on how to use CC...

Post it in big letters saying somethings like "HAVE A QUESTION?"

Or anytime a new account is created when they verify you could redirect them to that video...

P.S. This person should also have a legit voice like Morgan Freeman or the AlState guy... This is why I can't mine is more like Flo from Progressive.

I think this is a great idea...I joined about a week and half ago and am trying to find my way around here! I started a blog and want to know how to continue with what I wrote but cannot figure it out yet!

We just had a similar post here about a week ago. And have had numerous others before that.

I have no idea why no one has done it. I think because do to it efficiently would require multiple videos, ideally. Making one big video covering everything may not help people who have a specific question. And that takes time. I'm no mod, so wouldn't do any good sending it to me. But i'd contact RoboOp directly before making anything, and seeing if he can post them in a special section or if he would just want them in New Users. I would, personally, see about having a new Forum for CC Help Videos, or something like that. So that way there is a dedicated, marked section where the videos can be posted. Creating a video for various things. One for how to enter and use chat and features such as where to type, font color change, smileys, biblegateway, and explaining the features that are only for paying users. Also how to work the Youtube based rooms, and a quick explanation of each room. Such as Singles is 18+, teens is 13-19 only, etc.. One for navigating Forums with Reply, Reply With Quote, Multiquote, Report, Like And Rep.. etc..
Also, on the one you did, i'd skip the part before sign in. That part people get. And your wording was confusing, 'where the chat was, its here now' or something along those lines. If i didn't already know how it worked i'd have no idea what you were talking about.
Also, how to add avatar, profile pics, start user groups, edit sig, etc..
These are all things i see asked regularly.

These are all just some of my suggestions. I am a detail oriented person, and try to explain things clearly rather than rushed. So i'm saying how i would do it. But if you're doing it, then you probably won't handle it how i would. haha.
 
Yah I started thinking that I could just do it all in one take then I decided that it would become a 1 hour long video and stopped... I was thinking video's geared towards specific questions would be the best too... I speak in a rushed and slurred accent normally. So that was me trying to sound civilized LOL. I completely agree with you on the attention to detail. Hence why I wanted you to be harsh.

I decided just to post that just to get the ball rolling and to see if something along those lines would benefit CC.
 
It would be. Though, my only concern would be people seeing things clearly enough. The screen size is a bit small. I know there is software that allows you to zoom in and out, and keeps the image clear. That would be ideal, but also take more time.
It would help to be louder too. I would've done it all myself, but i am not big on the idea of my voice being out there ,haha. Which is one reason why i haven't really been on mic much ever in chats. And i can never get Fraps to work right either. It has a tendency to stop recording. Sometimes after a few seconds, sometimes longer. This has happened on different downloads and different computers. Stupid program.
 
Fraps only costs 37$. I've had a registered copy for years. What you are suggesting seems like a great idea, well, not just seems, is. There is quite a bit to go over and a person like me unfortunately, doesn't have the greatest patience or voice quality for a tutorial.

You seem to be capable of it, just send robo a mail and see what he think, I doubt he would turn down a well done user guide.
 
There is now help available for first time users :) And for others who have been here a little longer, it can be available for them also if they just ask a mod, or ask a mod to redirect them to volunteers helping out.

Biggest problem with that is most new users don't know how to find a mod, either. And some don't even know what a mod is. Some users who have been here months don't even know how to contact mods, or know who the mods are.
