What really motivates Islamic violence?

There's peaceful Muslims of course, but, for the most part, Islam is a confused religion without a purpose or message or direction, obsessed with meaningless religious legalism, oppressing women, and with destroying anyone who opposes them, even their own people or themselves, like the devil is obsessed with delusional destruction. Even ancient Judaism's religious laws pointed to fulfillment of the law in the Jewish Messiah, and the law of grace, love and mercy. If Islam and the Q'uran is followed to it's logical conclusion, and God knows they take it seriously, the logical result is idolatry, spiritual blindness, legalistic bondage, and violence. The attackers in France were not terrorists, they were acting as true Muslims and Islamic jihad is actively supported by tens of millions of Muslims and tens of millions more through their silence, because it's at the core of their religion.

Legalism dies hard. Even after the Apostle Paul was converted from religious legalism through a dramatic encounter with Christ after His ressurrection, and worked tirelessly as one of the greatest heroes of Christianity to teach that Jesus came to save us from this, 2000 years later, even many of us as Christians are still obsessed with legalism including even Pentecostals, Baptists and Catholics, and even state justice is obsessed with legalistic atonement of sins. That's why knowing Jesus has to begin with the free-gift of Christmas...
Being born into Heaven (wedding);
And a faithful life (marriage);
This is true freedom--
Freedom from religion...

Religion comes in several definitions, but in its most basic sense can be considered a specific set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of people or sects. Religion isn't a bad word, even if there are "bad" religions.

Christianity is a religion in the most basic, objective sense of the word.

That aside, my heart goes out to the victims of the recent events in Paris. It is a tragic affair, as is the backwash of it.

u know i had read that "when have u ever seen a peaceful protest or march what have you by Muslims?" that really made me think, also faith without works is dead and I feel that God has given me an true understanding about this which was that once we are a reborn new creature in Christ the only real "works" that we ourselves need to do is to TRUST fully in Him and thereby giving Him full reign to the degree of where He transforms us and does the works and brings about the fruits that pleases our Father and it is then that we will not only rest but recieve true freedom. I agree that so many fall to the legalism with this scripture and others that say that we should work with the Lord, well i don't know their hearts but i know mine and frankly trusting is work for me. :) I would also suggest that there is so many scripture in regards to Him being our Saviour, Him being who we are in as a reborn new creature, Him that puts His robes on us, Him that the Father sees not the sinner i am, and so on.... hope people get the point and TRUST and then REST, for then with your freedom all you are left with is to love, ur brethren or not, and ur God and His Son. Because after all if u were to do more than y were u a sinner? did u not try to change then as well? and how did that go...so trust in Him for His yoke is easy and His burden is light...take care and loves to u brother

sondra333, sorry I did not respond on this. Thanks for this-- I like how you said, trust and rest as the main challenge. seems crazy sometimes why we as sons and daughters of God, resist trusting and resting in faith when God has gone above and beyond the call of duty for us sometimes crazy ppl of the earth... Why is surrendering to a loving Creator so difficult? The Lord understands, and will never let go of us-- like that song "Calling All Angels," I think years ago... "I won't give up, if you don't give up," except that Jesus Lord of Angels and His brothers and sisters of the Kingdom, never gives up on us-- Christian songs are more powerful, but secular music can reach people too, like, "Hold on for one more day." "Shower the people with Love, O Lord," if thewords are right-- "Don't stop, believing, hold on to that feeling..." "I see your true colors shining through..." I think I like that last one the best-- beautiful song... can't remember the singers name--

yeah, and it's still happening in the news, but, they will not get away with their deluded violence... there's a Psalm, but I don't have it right here: (paraphrase from memory) [the God of Israel doesn't care, they say. Does the Lord who formed the ear, not hear? The One Who formed the eye, not see?
THINK AGAIN...]
It will be Christ Who appears in the sky.
Not anyone else.
And those who have been martyred by anti-christ religions, will truly be rewarded in Heaven. And they don't need any anti-Christ concubines.

Today is the beginning of Ramadan. May the peaceful Muslims of the world have a rewarding holiday, and have the courage to speak up against those who perpetrate violence in the name of their religion. Some things are worth dying for, and One--Jesus Christ of Israel, the Son of God, is one, and so is standing up to the lost violent Islamic hoards destined for chains in the abyss, where they will be escorted by the Angels of God, and of Christ, if they refuse to turn from their murder.
