why dont men want to look after their own children. Its weird. Presumably they know the birds and the bees and what happens after sex.

hmm

I asked the previous librarian why there werent any bean bags in the library anymore and she said that the students would get too friendly on them.

I thought the whole point of school was so you could learn to make friends otherwise everyone would just stay at home and be homeschooled.

At the school I worked in they even had a wooden bench near the playground that was called 'the friendship seat'.

I want to add RIP Matthew Perry

Sorry a bit late but want to do a little obit for him, since he was the reason many Friends fans watched friends.

He put so much of himself into the character of Chandler, and got the last word in and most of all the jokes. In the show, he was a loyal friend and roommate to Joey, and, everyone cheered when he got together with Monica (we original viewers did not see that coming).

He had flaws and parents who were odd to say the least. But it didn't stop him from wanting his hearts desire, who happened to be only across the corridor. On the show, it was hilarious and looked like it would last. Unlike Rachel and Ross or Phoebe and her many beaus, you know Chandler was serious and just wanted to be loved, and love others..though figuring out how to do so was not easy.

I can't say I followed Matthew Perry after Friends ended, but then not every actor can land a plum role in a series and not be typecast. Chandler was completely original though.

Everytime I see Jennifer Anniston in anything, for example, she's just playing an older version of Rachel lol. I saw her in Mothers Day where she plays a mother of 2 boys who is divorced and her divorcee ex goes with someone much younger, flaunting his new flame before her. Deja vu friends episode!

In real life, it seems Matthew Perry did not have it easy, though you could argue, he made his peace with God at the end, and died in his jacuzzi, so maybe it wasn't all bad. People often feel sorry for people that die who don't have children, but whatever mark he left in this world will be taken into account won't it?

Best friends moments...I might pick when he tried to break up with Janice and she wouldn't let him...or when he accepted Joeys friendship bracelet even when he hated it...or the dance he did when Rachel and Ross were fighting, to distract them...or the dance he did when he was happy with Monica. Was it true love? They seem well matched (obsessive and paranoid together)

Guys don't try be a Chandler though, sarcasm isn't a way to live your life...just save your one liners for your own sitcom

I used to watch Friends when it was still running and it was like my favorite show but I don't remember much of it. I do remember the one where Chandler got promoted and could no longer be friends with his coworkers, and one where Ross was stuck in this building in the rain and a supermodel came in and needed to use the payphone or something. I think it was Ross, maybe it was Chandler.

I never found Rachel that attractive. Every guy seemed to think she was gorgeous. I know she married Brad Pitt, but it ended because she didn't want kids and he did. I felt bad for my bro. :D

I don't think it was quite like that. She (Jennifer Aniston) had a miscarriage.

Rachel was not really an attractive character apart from physically, but she grew in her role. The show really was about how she was learning to get by in life with her friends, after jilting her fiance at the altar. The very first scene she arrives in Central Park running away from her wedding, still in her gown. She then has to move in with Monica and find a job.

Oh I didn't know she had a miscarriage. :( It was so long ago I don't remember any of the storylines or anything. Same with all the other shows I watched back then like Seinfeld, Cheers, Frasier, ER..

Wow that's a lot! They still play it on tv a lot but I haven't been watching it. During covid I learned to play guitar.
I've heard people took up things like baking during covid but I didn't, plus there was a flour shortage.

I remember trying to buy yeast, but they'd sold out everywhere.

I'd put on Friends on Netflix and watch maybe 2 or 3 episodes at a time. I enjoyed the flashback episodes they would have from time to time because the characters all dressed 80's style. So funny.

I'm just on the tail end of Generation X so it was the perfect show for me and reminded me of what it was like in my 20s. If you weren't spending your 20s getting wasted/stoned, you did stupid/silly things like the Friends did.

Who remembers

Smelly Cat?

Also there are certain lines/catchphrases everyone who's a Friend fan knows.

Pivot!
Could I *be* wearing any more clothes?
How you doin'?
Oh. My. Gawd.
He's her lobster!
That is brand new information!
Who ate MY SANDWICH??

We were on a break!

I've actually binge watched some korean dramas with over 100 episodes and I binge watched other shows that had lots of episodes like Dexter and Breaking Bad. When the lockdowns began I spent the first year trying to get really good at drum solos. Tried to emulate my favorite solo drummers Dave Weckl and Thomas Lang. I've already been drumming for decades and I got pretty good soloing but never got many views on youtube and I found out how negative the drumming community can be so I decided to learn guitar.

Wow do you have your own drum kit and guitar?
I'd imagine a drum kit to be very expensive plus where would you do it? Do you have a basement or garage?

The one with the bagpipes!

Lol if you've seen it...remember Phoebe loved Ross's playing while everyone else hated it or pretended to like it.

EEEEEEEE!

Also his attempts at the electronic keyboard - priceless. Ross was so nerdishly lovable though. I can imagine him being a big brother if I had one, but I never did. I have a big sister instead!

I think watching Friends was like having virtual friends cos I missed hanging out with my real friends in lockdown there's only so much messaging and zoom calls you can take.

Yes I have a big 8 pc. drum kit and a 5 pc. electronic drum kit in the garage. And I have 5 guitars (3 electric, 2 acoustic), and a small keyboard. The guitars are not the expensive kind. Actually none of it is the expensive kind. 😂

I get that. I sometimes wish I could have friends again, but then I remember how difficult it can be because sometimes they want to hang out and I don't want to or vice versa. All my freindships were before facebook or social media.

Yes well it helps if you all lived together like the Friends did. Well Monica and Rachel were roomies, and Joey and Chandler were across the hall.
Ross had his own apartment and so did Phoebe. Phoebe tried living with Rachel, but when Rachel was living with her, Rachel nearly burned the place down by leaving her hair straightener on!

Monica was such a neat freak though.
