The more we experience weakness and human frailty in life, the more we are awakened to the coldness and nakedness of not abiding in the love of God. A lot of times that is what the pain is -- an awakening to something we were numb to before. In this way, weakness, failure, falling short, and insecurity can be assets because they open us up to Love, to connecting to something beyond the inferior versions in this world, to something more pure and complete and absolute. If we had what we wanted from the start, if we were what we wanted from the start, we might have remained in that dreamlike state of focusing on the surface and not going beyond, going deeper. So the man or woman that feels pain and feels incomplete, feels the beginning of something that is greater than this world, if only they are willing to endure until it is found, or willing to be found by it.
Someone was telling me today how they were unhappy with what they had not accomplished at their age in life. I told them life is not something that is easily controlled, and it humbles us. It shows us that we need more than we thought we did, makes us connect to more than we thought we needed. The same is true with love and relationships. The more we dont measure up to others' standards, the more we see we need a better love to support us, than they could give us. The more we dont measure up to our own standards, the more we see we need a better love than we could give ourselves. And the more we see, that the real tragedy would be going through life not thinking we needed that love so dearly.
There are Oceans of love waiting to flow for the person that is willing to break down and be humble enough to need that much, without shame, without saying no or Im supposed to be better than this and be ok on my own. And that Love will then flow through the person. This is the stuff that changes this world -- spiritual reality is the force that drives things, not the forces on the surface. People that fail to fit in with the surface are already connected to something deeper. They are connected to the brokenness of the world. So they are broken. They cannot just get by on the surface because they are not of the surface, they are not superficial. So instead they manifest the dissonance the world tries to cover up. If they have the heart for it, if they let it, something even deeper than the brokenness of the world will connect to them, something deeper will move on their behalf and change them, and will move through them and change everything around them.
The measure of a person isnt what theyve done or become by themselves, but what they have connected to. And it may take a life time of breaking down without that connection, to see the full magnitude of its worth. There are truths so great that they deserve entire lifetimes spent just to express how lost we are without them. But if we stop focusing on the surface we can waste no time getting lost in those truths willingly, and become something we will never be ashamed of. We can become true, we can become people that are of those truths, and in truth we can accept the love that is true, and abide in it.

You are seeing the beauty in weakness, I think.

"My strength is made perfect in weakness."

I have a piece of art I titled, "Beaute de la sufferance." Translated, it means "Beauty From Suffering."

Nice :)
