Around November 2006 I became a foster mum to a 16 year old beautiful daughter who had lost her biological mum at an early age. She has been through all kinds of abused from her own dad and her grandparents. She lived with me for 11 months before she took her own life early morning of the Father’s Sunday 2nd of September 2007. I felt so lost, for I thought that I was providing her with a second chance to live her life and I could not comprehend the fact that she decided her life.
During this time I prayed and ask God for peace and for comfort. I also prayed for enlightenment as to why is this happening? I also prayed and ask God for His forgiveness and mercy to set me free and my kids from any generational curse that we have been bound by from your parents, grandparents etc.
In about exactly one year around October 2008, after my adopted daughter died, a violent incident happens at home (I was at work) where my husband gave our eldest son a hiding when he come home drunk early one Friday morning. My husband was taken to court and sentenced for 1 year home arrest plus he has to complete a whole sets of counseling sessions. The department of Child, Youth and Family removed all our four kids away ( youngest was 3 years old and oldest was 17) and placed them in foster care. I thought that the loss of my adopted daughter was the worst incident of my life but I cannot compare it to my kids being taken away and placed under the care of strangers. I plead with the CYFS and the POLICE for them to take my husband away and bring my kids to me but it was to no avail. As a result I and my husband has to go through all kinds of family support courses that will help us learn about how to better address certain areas of our life at home. We attended parents support groups, and my husband has to go on relationship counseling, drug and alcohol abuse counseling, and anger management counseling etc. About five months into these courses, our kids were return back to us and I was about 4 months pregnant. Our kids were returned to us with the condition that my husband was to continue with the anger management counseling and drug and alcohol abuse counseling for a year. In the meantime he was to abstain from consuming any drinks that contains any alcohol and he also needs to check in and report regularly to the probation officer. In September 2009 I gave birth to our youngest son, and around March 2010 my husband completed all the requirements on his sentence and he was released.
During this time I prayed and ask God to forgive me for not being the parents that He wants me to be and I also asked Him to please give us both another chance to be a better parents for our children.
We were all looking forward for my husband’s release so that we can go to places where we have not been to during this period of strict supervision. What I did not realized, is that my husband has been communicating with his high school sweet heart and sharing his love with her on the internet. It was no sooner that I took our five younger kids with me in December to my mum’s 70th birthday in Australia that my husband brought his high school sweetheart to our home and they spend Christmas and new year together. I discovered from our email account about all the communication and their plan to be with one another , and that I have left him to be with the rest of my family in Australia. When I talk to my husband and showed him all their conversation and their plan to be with one another, He told me that he was just playing around and that this lady ment nothing to him For him, it was just a sport that he is playing. When we returned home, I later found out that my husband was staying with us while also staying with the other lady. My two oldest boys also found out about what he was doing and chase him away.
When I first find out about my husband’s affairs with his current partner, I went through all the turmoil that anyone suffers from broken relationship. My prayer at the time is that God, please bring my husband back to me. This was not the first time he has been unfaithful, the ones before, it was more like one night stand, during his party time but he always comes back home. I believe that if our boys did not chase him away he would happily stays at home with us while at the same time entertaining the other lady.
What is happening now, is that I cannot thank God enough for His love, care and protection that enabled me to pass through these trouble times and come out victorious at the end. I thank God for His word that gives me comfort and peace of mind and the confidence knowing that God is still in control and He has the last say in my life. I will be forever grateful that God has my heart, love and devotion and I know without a shadow of a doubt that it is the safest place to be. I thank God that by His grace alone that enable me to be set free from all the bondage of the things that have happens in the past and that I now focus on what God has in store for my life each and every day. It is my desire that I will not allow the things of this world to tie me down but let the beauty of our future home continue to captivate my heart and mind until the day that He will greets me and welcome me home.
