the idea that Almighty God is terrified of physical death sobbing for Himself and His impending 'momentary light affliction' unable to think about anything but how much it will probably hurt -- you don't find that bizarre?
but glorifying Christ "who for the joy set before Him willingly endured the cross" -- you think that is bizarre?

the evidence suggests Christ is grieved over us being separated from Him.
i don't see anything in John 17 about Christ being worried about being separated from God or fretting about His own work.
it seems to mostly be about mankind, that He agonizes - tho there is a solid surety in these words about our being kept in Him.
2nd Timothy is interesting.
God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
(2 Timothy 1:7)
a natural question is whether God Himself, manifest in the flesh as Jesus Christ, has a spirit of fear, powerlessness, & hopelessness? (2 Timothy 1:7)
or does He have a spirit of power & love and of sound mind?

I disagree with your understanding.. I was scared my daddy was going to go to jail if i told about being molested. So i lied am i dammed for the fear or the lie NO i am saved by His Grace. And thankful i got away from Mr. Penny. We are not Christ. Bad guys broke into our home with a shotgun i was scared afraid i was an adult that too was not sin. we are human . Should the time come when my physical body is challenged for my faith in Christ i hope/pray i can be as Stephen. In our daily lives fear has a role we dont stick our hands through the fence that says beware of the dog... Most of us do not have the faith to tell the storm "be still' and have it obey. So we use the God given commons sense, or fear, to not go boating in a storm.
This is not about the attack on you nor on me . We are not the Man/God Jesus was/is. I believe you are over thinking some of these posts, bring them onto yourself. Yes anyone under attack would show fear we are only human Christ is not " only Human" he is also God. I agree with Posthuman Jesus was not afraid. I agree with you in your fear.
