I was 16 and very shy, but agreed to go out with a friend of my brother's. He picked me up and we were talking and laughing, and all of the sudden he pulled the car over to the shoulder of the road and stopped the car. Without saying a word, he got out of the car, walked around and opened my door, shut the door, walked back around to the driver's side and got back in. I looked at him and asked him what that was all about, and he grinned and said, "I just wanted to see if your dress was stuck in the door." I took the hint and moved away from the door. Was a lot less nervous after that. :)

Very cute first date smooth move. :)

So I honestly don't have any to share but I just have to say that was awesome! lol Completely 5 star.

AWWWW! Loved that Julianna. Very memorable indeed! :)

Well, I do have a best first date story. (at least to me it was0 :)

A guy at church asked me out for dinner. He called me telling me would be late due to traffic, that he was just returning from out of town.

He came strait to my apartment, and I immedietly felt under dressed because he was wearing a suit (minus the jacket). Now, he had taken off the tie and unbuttoned the first button...but still it makes my nerves go all the more crazy lol (I was wearing a nice sundress..but just decided to go with it)

Anyway, he said he needed to get gas before we headed accross town for dinner. When he went to get his wallet he could not find it. He looked in his suit coat, the console of the car...EVERYWHERE. I could tell he was a mix of panic and embarressed. lol He ended up calling the conference center where he had his meeting and sure enough he had left it there. FIVE hours away. lol

I told him it was no big deal, that I would cover the cost of the evening....but he would not hear of it! He sat there thinking...and after finding $18 and change in his ashtray of his car...he said we were going to do whatever we could with the $18. After some for gas in his car.....we went to Taco Bell and ate off the dollar menu, went to a driving range and drove golf balls, and then bought some bread and went and fed ducks.

It was SOOOOOOO much fun, and hands down, till this day the best first date I ever had. :) We looked out of place everywhere we went due to how we were dressed....but was so much fun. Mostly I think due to how he handled the embarresment of not having his wallet when he was due to take a girl out on a date. :)

I didn't have my first day date til college! The guy asked me to homecoming and we were going to go to a pizza place in Irving, Tx but the night we went ended up being a HOME GAME night for the Cowboys, so we got stuck in traffic. We ended up getting to the pizza place alot later than planned and it was closed when we got there so we ended up going to taco bell instead.

LOL! Looks like Taco Bell is a great first date site! I had NO idea it was so romantic :)

K, first date was with (and still good friend) Sherri. We were both 14 and we walked to McDonald's and the movies, both were close by. haha. She has 3 kids now (so do i) and whenever we see one another we sometimes mention the date lol. Cant remember the conversation. Omgoodness cant remember the movie either. i think next time we chat, ill ask her haha.

Jullianna and Grace~ great stories. Mmmmmm first date? Eeeeek I don't even know. My first bf was right after high school and we always hung out as groups and then he and I eventually hung out without the others lol but I don't remember the first date we had. I guess it couldnt of been that memorable huh?

Just to clarify...I did not think it was soley about your 1st date you ever had...I thought it was any first date you had that was funny or the best. Sorry if I misunderstood. I was 24 when that date took place that I described. The FIRST date I ever had was when I was 14.

I had an on-again, off-again boyfriend from kindergarten through 8th grade. When I was in 7th grade (about 13), we had a first date out to the movies (up until then, our "dates" consisted of rollerskating together at school skating parties). A friend of mine and I met him and one of his friends at the theater (our parents all knew, we weren't trying to pull the wool over anyone's eyes, but I figured they trusted us enough to not do anything wrong or get into any trouble.)

The movie we saw was "Mannequin", with Andrew McCarthy and Kim Cattrall, if anyone remembers it. I guess during the entire movie, my guy's friend kept saying, "Are you going to hold her hand?" He never did... poor guy--was probably scared to death.

Because the movie was an inevitable romantic comedy, there was the even more inevitable implied sex scene (nothing graphic, thank goodness), but I can remember my face turning beet red, even in the dark theater, and sliding down to the bottom of my seat because we were kids and I felt completely embarrassed!!! So... all we did was sit there... and watch the movie. I even tried to make it easy for him by talking to him a few times during the show (thereby moving closer to him), but alas... we were both covered in feathers (chickening out) that fateful day.

I ran into him when we were in our 20's... he still has that killer smile and those stunning blue eyes.

It's whichever first date you want it to be! I loved yours! lol

I had an awkward first date..and it was my first date ever. I was a drummer in my high school marching band and I found out this girl liked me who was a majorette that I also liked (I couldn't even believe she liked me). She got her mom to take us to the movies one night and so we went and I dont even remember what we saw, (I just don't remember! lol) but afterward when we were getting in the car to go home her mom suggested we both sit in the back seat. I thought "wow, she has the coolest mom in the world!" (I wasnt a christian then).

So we were sitting back there holding hands and talking when her mom started talking to her about how she (the girl) used to make out in the backseat with her former bf. I was very naive and was just like "wow! really?!" Then she said that we could make out too and that it would be ok with her. Well, we kissed a couple times and I got real nervous and nothing else happened. That was the only date we went on for some reason. Anyway..her mom didnt seem awkward then but now it does seem very odd. Unfortunately her mom passed from cancer a few years ago, and she really was a cool mom. :( The girl, Karen, has two kids and is divorced last I talked to her. I actually looked her up on AOL and found her like 20 years after we last saw each other.

There is another date that happened only a few years ago that i would have liked to tell you guys about but it wouldn't be appropriate :( (I wasnt a christian then either)

Holy Smokes, Zero... I can't imagine being in a situation where someone's parent encouraged me to make out with their child!! I wouldn't have felt comfortable at all, but that's just me... I'm just glad to hear you survived. :D

I have one other date story I'd like to share--some of you may have read this already, so I'm sorry if I'm sounding redundant to anyone.

When I was about 17, I worked with a guy (at a Mickey D's, no less) and we always had a lot of fun talking and working together, so I asked him to my first prom. The thing of it was, he was also spending time with our bosses at the time (they were best friends and one kind of liked him, but they were in their 30's and he was 19.) I had talked to him about it BEFORE I ever asked him to my prom and he said it was just a friend thing, that he had no interest in dating our boss, and that people who were older than him usually liked hanging out with him so to him, it was just spending time with friends.

We both kind of mutually decided we should spend some time together before going to a big event like a prom, so we set up the typical dinner-and-a-movie appointment a few weeks before. He was having car problems, so he borrowed his parent's car to pick me up, but unfortunately, their car had even more problems than his.

It was raining cats and dogs that day, and his parent's car was an almost completely rusted-out Chevette, which wouldn't have been a problem... except that as we were driving down the highway, a HUGE wave of water shot up from a hole in the floor of the car, sidestepping the floormat and exploding all over him while he was driving. We're not talking a gentle spray of water here--it was an all-out GEYSER.

I felt SO bad for him--he had to be SO embarrassed... I was like, "OH!!! Are you ok?" I think he tried to laugh it off but I knew he must have felt terrible. We didn't have any towels or anything so he had no way of drying off... just kind of trying to shake off the water... I just tried to make some sort of small talk to hopefully lighten the situation.

So besides my poor date nearly being drowned in the car, it was a pretty good time, and something must have been right--we were together 4 years (he went to my first and second proms with me :)) and were engaged for a short time (actually, he talked about getting engaged within the first month that we dated... I was a little shocked at the time, but this was my first "real" relationship), but that's another story (actually, several stories!!) for another time.

Thinking how much fun it would be to see that on Youtube :)

hahaha my dad had a car like that! It was a 1960's porsche and it was in sad shape, including the rusted out floorboard where you'd see a wetspot on the carpet because of the water coming thru. My uncle bought it from my dad and completely restored it, thank God. It looked like it was new! But one day it actually caught fire in the engine and the whole car went up in flames. No one was hurt though,

Well, this one time... Oh, wait. I don't have any of those stories yet. :p
