Gee, you mean like someone with a PhD in OT, NT and Biblical Theology who has been asked to serve on special investigations? Or perhaps someone who translates the sayings of Jesus from the Greek back to Aramaic without going through English?

Do you really think that Paul thought so much of himself that he thought he was writing scripture? Do you even know the Greek term used to describe how scripture came to be before Paul created a new term?

If what Paul wrote was dictated to him by the Holy Spirit, why does Paul say that he is expressing his opinion, not God's.
no, i don't think paul thought so much of himself in any way. he was humbled by God. the book of Phillipians, chapter 1, verse 21 which paul wrote teaches: "for to me to live is Christ & to die is gain". God used the writers with their own distinct styles, wording & context to record His message: that's the key right there.

I might add that your understanding of 2 Timothy is YOUR understanding, not necessarily correct, just your opinion. Under my opinion, you need to find a good teacher to correct your errors, but I am wise enough to recognize what is my opinion and not view my opinion as fact. Nor do I expect anyone to fully understand my opinion without full details being provided. Most who have read what I have written to date find it insightful, those who haven't find it my views different.
i understand as the H.S. teaches me. i am a born again Christian who is indwelt with the Holy Spirit. the H.S. its the comforter & TEACHER. he assists anyone who is a Christian in understanding & learning. the H.S. causes us to "see" the truth & He convicts, converts & transforms us. compile verses 2nd Timothy 2:7 & 15, 3:16 & 17, 2nd Peter 1:20 & 21 with John 16:13 & 14:26 & you should understand. i don't know if you are a born again Christian but if not, consider becoming one immediately & you will certainly see & understand the truth then.

So in your estimation Jesus did not have the Holy Spirit without measure as the scripture tell us He did?

John 3:34
For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto Him

Care to actually believe God's Word and refrain from saying Jesus was ignorant?

He was not ignorant of anything. Through the Holy Spirit there was nothing He did not know.
So you deny Jesus's own words recorded in scripture? He stated that He did not know the time or hour of the coming Day of the Lord, yet you claim that He did. You CONTRADICT SCRPTURE. Why should anyone believe anything you proclaim about scripture?

How do you prove that your understandings are from the Holy Spirit? You follow traditional positions which have changed over time, yet have always claimed to be inspired by the H S. Scripture proclaims that God does not change, yet tradition claims God meant this in this verse, as well as God meant that in that same verse, both claiming inspiration from the H S. How do you reconcile God contradicting Himself.

Personally, I argue that tradition is purely human made and will contradict, even as it lies and claims inspiration from the H S, and I can find many who claim to be Christians who state that due to their experiences that they cannot deny being from God, that tradition is of human origins and the Church lies about it for political or economic reasons. And unlike tradition, which depends on who you take to, their accounts of gaining insights are remarkably consistent. Even Lee Strobel has encountered this evidence, he just chooses to ignore it as it contradicts things he wishes to say and make money off of.

I'm hearing numerous preachers teach that all our futures sins are already forgiven

Is this why is doesn't matter if a christian lives in sin or not and once saved always saved in true?

My pastor tells me that the bible teaches there is nothing a christian can possibly do that would cause them to not go to heaven

And this seems to be the general consensus of many here after reading quite a few posts from others.
confounding isn’t it

You said "I doubt He knew about anything other than OT works pre-crucifixion" and were not speaking to whether Jesus knew the exact time of His return which He said only the Father knew.

Jesus knows now, seated at the right hand of the Father.

During His time on earth the Father had not revealed that to Him yet because Jesus would have been obligated to teach and share that since we are joint heirs with Him.

That's the ONLY thing the Father had not revealed to Jesus during His time on earth and there was a reason for that.
You have no proof in scripture that He was ignorant of any other thing because He was not.

confounding isn’t it

Not really since we are not ignorant of the devil's devices.

Jesus warned us the devil would send tares among the True children of God and of course they speak in behalf of their father the devil to turn the grace of God in to lasciviousness

1 could say that by your 1st question, you are not born again. anyone who is born again TOTALLY KNOWS WHEN THE HOLY SPIRIT SPEAKS TO HIM OR HER! this verse ought to convince you: John 3:33- "he that hath received His testimony hath set to his seal that God is true". who's tradition, man's or God's? speaking of that, the apocryphal books are not authored by men, they are authored by God. catholics are famous for adding men's tradition to the Bible in errancy. it seems you are putting too much into this. stick to 1 subject at a time. also, you are making this more complicated than you have to, narrow it down, you'll understand quicker. no derision intended.

Yes they are and they deceive millions of people in doing so

If anybody ever introduces me to some dude they claim is a catholic priest, the first thing I'm going to tell the guy is Jesus said to call NO man on ear "Father" so I'll be telling him - NO, I will not address you as "Father" because you ain't my "Father"

If he gets offended that's his problem. Then I'll tell him I don't sit under false doctrine so I'm not interested in hearing anything he has to say about the things of God.

i assent: Matthew 23- 8,9, & 10

Glad to see that you choose to revise your statements after it is pointed out to you what you said. But you have not provided any proof of Jesus pre-knowledge of the NT writings, nor that He has gained any new knowledge about the future, merely asserted that in YOUR opinion, He knew/knows. Your opinion is not proof of anything other than itself.

So you are doubling down on your claim that Jesus is ignorant of future events claiming He did not have the Holy Spirit without measure. The Holy Spirit was in Him in His fullness so Jesus had access to all the Holy Spirit knew which include future events and you failed to prove otherwise through all of that carnal minded speculation.

Those doing such are created division between themselves and the Lord and are too slow to even know it. Sad.

And you seem to believe that your opinion is perfect understanding. Believing yourself or even just your opinion is perfect removes your need for God's continued guidance and healing. Very sad.

Well we know your opinion comes from a religious clown show, which isn't even decent comedy

Grow up and get off the milkman!

You had better check with the people who teach your teachers. Some of them might be among those who have seen sizable fragments of my work and praise it highly for solving problems that appeared unsolvable. But I know that you are too far down the totem pole of biblical teachers to have seen any of my supporting evidence. You rely on one or another example of outdated teaching, there are many.

But I must say you do post a nice selfie. When did you take that picture of yourself?

I don't sit under false doctrine which is how I know they don't have any of your chicanery

Wasn't David Koresh a big fan of your work?
No, I don't associate with those you consider good teachers until they reform their theology, but some do.

And I suspect that when it comes to false doctrine, you don't sit, you stand up and cheer.

Well, I have no further time for slow willingly blind ones such as yourself waving4.gif

Salvation isn't about you doing your best to be perfect, but about your relationship with God. You will stumble, you will sin, you are still a human. The question is either you do it on purpose or not. Let's assume I'm your friend and don't want to offend you, but sometimes I do wrong things; they don't offend you though, they are my own problems. I know I shouldn't do that because you said it's not good for me or others, but I make mistakes sometimes. It's totally different if you tell me "I'll forgive you if you hurt a puppy accidentally", and I'll be like "cool, now I will kick a puppy because somebody will forgive me". Hope you see a difference and why in the second case you wouldn't even tell be about forgiveness because you wouldn't even want to know me.

Yes and if one actually has a relationship with the Lord they will submit themselves to the Lord and die to self being led of the Holy Spirit will does not lead anybody to continue in sin.

You will stumble, you will sin, you are still a human.

That's what satan wants everyone to accept that they cannot walk in the Spirit and they are just cursed to always be living after the flesh in sin every day in word and deed.

The question is either you do it on purpose or not.

Nobody sins by accident.

James 4:17
to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

People know when they are doing wrong and they do it anyway - these are those who are playing games with the Lord and are not sincere in their relationship with Him.

Let's assume I'm your friend and don't want to offend you, but sometimes I do wrong things; they don't offend you though, they are my own problems.

Then that wouldn't be any of my business unless you tell me about it and doing so is inviting me to comment about it.

I know I shouldn't do that because you said it's not good for me or others, but I make mistakes sometimes.

Know, you knew it was wrong... decided to do it anyway and that's willingly doing sin on purpose

James 4:17
to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

if you tell me "I'll forgive you if you hurt a puppy accidentally", and I'll be like "cool, now I will kick a puppy because somebody will forgive me"

James 4:17 applies to this too as you know it's wrong to hurt the dog but choose to do it anyway

Hope you see a difference and why in the second case you wouldn't even tell be about forgiveness because you wouldn't even want to know me.

What I want is irrelevant concerning people.

God loves them and wants them to get saved and delivered from bondage to sin so out of respect for the Lord I'd want to try and help them if I can.
