Jesus died on the cross and became a curse so we would no longer be under a curse. BUT Jesus was totally surrendered to God. He was the example we try to follow. Scripture is clear YES generational curses are in effect today. The word is clear people misinterpret it all the time making it say what they want it to mean. Here is an example. If a sinner has not accepted Jesus as his Lord and does not live for him he has not partaken in the death burial and resurrection of Christ ,then he is still under the law of sin and death for that reason alone.
If at some time he accepts the fact that Jesus died rose again from the dead repents, turns from his ways asks Jesus to be Lord of his life and lives for Christ, grace now abounds and the blood covers him. To say that curses do not exist is as foolish as saying blessings do not exist. People were cursed because of their action or the actions of their forefathers and until that has been resolved it is still on the heavenly books.
What most people don't get is they try to equate their limited natural based knowledge with spiritual knowledge and the two if not on one accord often clash for what is natural is natural and what is spiritual is spiritual. I am sad that well meaning believers try to re write the Holy Scriptures simply because they don't study and if the do they study naturally well where is the spiritual study with the mind of Christ. Who seeks God for the answers to only spiritual questions? Many don't they fly off what they think they know or by the seat of their pants defending positions that make them look foolish to well taught Christians.
Most well meaning believers claiming they love Christ don't believe in demons or demonic activity but believe in Angels and even then they think Angels are what they are not, most don't know how to fight but are always looking for one, most are defeated in several areas of life yet pretend to be experts at deliverance and liberty, most shy away from truth and hide behind religion asking the dumbest theoretical questions that have very little base and even less restoration and salvation hope for hurting and lost believers muchless anything that would want a sinner to change.
Then even worse take scripture and twist it beyond the boundaries of anything recognized by many who study each day and commune with the Holy Spirit and are yielded to his guiding our lives. I was taught that we know in part and the part that we know we need to know that we know that we know that we really know.
Gods ways are not our ways unless we follow them. His thoughts are not our thoughts unless we think them. His understanding is not our understanding unless we yield to his understanding. When we rid our thoughts and allow only Gods position to come from our mouths we will do what all believers hope to do. Let me share this last thought.
If life and death are in the power of the tongue and we all can speak . Can we speak sinful words that are cursed and bring curses to situations? Of Course. If the death of Jesus canceled curses in our lives if we accept him as Lord and accept his death burial and resurrection are we under a law of curses? Of Course believers are not but unbelievers are. Here is why for even though it rains on the just as well as the unjust the unjust are still unjust.
They don't benefit from the whole set of promises of believers. Lastly breaking a curse stops the action of the curse demonic residue may still be involved and need to be cleansed. I ;m going to end this with scripture that should put it in perspective this is after Jesus had taught his disciples truth.
Return of an Unclean Spirit
(
Luke 11:24-26)
43When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.
44Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth
it empty, swept, and garnished.
45Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last
state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.
A Tree Recognized by its Fruit
(
Matthew 7:15-23;
Luke 6:43-45)
33Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by
his fruit.
34O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
35A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
36But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
37For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
A House Divided
(
Mark 3:20-27;
Luke 11:14-23)
22Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.
23And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?
24But when the Pharisees heard
it, they said, This
fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.
25And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
26And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?
27And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast
them out? therefore they shall be your judges.
28But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.
29Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.
30He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.
My hope and prayer is that the threads get better and the understanding gets better so we can all be soul winners and not debaters who keep biting the bait that has been dangled. Satan uses believers against each other and influences several of the questions many think are sincere, but the bigger understanding is that sin is in
sincere, sin is in
influence
s and sin is
still
in us in some degree and that is our thorn in the flesh to keep under control and allow Jesus to either remove it or use it to get us to the place he desires us to be in him for only in him is no
sin.
