Oh wow...i said genesis 1.4....then turn to 1 John 4 and it tells you why not to believe hebrews

So God is saying in His word that we shouldn't believe certain other things He wanted written through His inspiration?

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (KJV)
[SUP]16 [/SUP]All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
[SUP]17 [/SUP]That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

1 John 4:1 (KJV)
[SUP]1 [/SUP]Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Seems to me the same guy wrote this too.

1 John 2:7-8 (KJV)
[SUP]7 [/SUP]Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.

Does darkness reign somewhere in this conversation? When John wrote this the writings that we have of the New Testament didn't exist. John was also on the Mount of Transfiguration with Jesus, Moses, and Elijah. I read of no disagreement between them. What's in Hebrews that we shouldn't believe, or what comes from John who was a Hebrew, and a Jew that we shouldn't believe?

Rediculous....The Lord God supplied them with coats. Why does everyone keep denying an entity that is not God administers the works of the scripture outside of genesis the first 7 days of creation.

Jag,
Lets look at the verse and start from there.

GEN 3.21:
[SUP]21 [/SUP]Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them.

Interestingly enough most Bible versions say coats or tunics of skins. So yes they had coats, but they were made out of skins and most Bible versions use the Hebrew word `owr which is translated as skin or better translated as hides, as in animal hides.

Sorry, The Bible does not say God supplied them with coats or create them coats. It says: "did the Lord God make"
The Hebrew word for Make, means to fashion or construct out of existing materials. Make and create are 2 very different things in the Hebrew and especially in the first few chapters of Genesis.

It all goes back to the shedding of Blood.

Atonement is not remission, remission is not ransom, ransom is not regeneration, regeneration is not repentance, and repentance is not renewal.

Just-Me,
There is a new teaching out in certain denominations that preach and teach against us even reading Hebrews, because it was well...you know....for the Hebrews and has no application to the gentiles. It's the same lie from hell that says we don't need the Old Testament because that was before the New Covenant and the other lie that I don't have to tithe, because its the law..and I am no longer under the Law, even though tithing was first mentioned as a covenant, between Abram & Melchizedek

Good point. I say this. If God has preserved the book of Hebrews in English, it is for English speaking Gentiles. God bless man. I love it. Hebrews that is. It makes it very clear that Jesus is our sacrifice for the remission of sins. it's been that way since the beginning, and we can clearly see that He is the completion of the law and the prophets, not the negation. The rhetorical question should be; does the old vanish making the new complete without having to complete anything? It's a conundrum if that would be true, but it ain't. There are parts of a whole that make the whole complete via the final part being installed.

Could it be that Abel gave God and "idea" when he gave a better sacrifice?

I don´t like having killed animals I grew to eat later. I don´t like blood shedding, particularly when I love those animals I kept (rabitts or some dogs I have to sacrifice).

If I take the firstling of my bananas trees I PAY NOTHING, because the grow alone, by God´s grace and soil, but there is a double sacrifice when you grow and loved animals (or those feelings) you had while daily toiling for them...

Cain's offering centered on intellect and Abel's was centered on compassion.
Cain said "thanks for the brains!" and Abel said "thanks for the love!"

Tiller of the earth and keeper of a flock.

Are you serious? I am the one arguing that is was not God who said it. You just repeated what I said and the guy who was against what I said and you repeated then liked your post. This is a waste of my time

Check hebrews in the NT. They claim just as this just-me guy does that it was the works of God.

If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.(KJV)

What should have Cain done? What should have he offered?

He should have offered the first and best of what he had. God doesn't leftovers. Everytime I get money, I take off the top of it to give instead of just offering the scraps. Able gave the best of what he had instead of the last. It isn't ours to begin with.

Heb 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

Sacrifice must be an animal. until Jesus came of course. The lamb being a symbol of Christ. Able brought the acceptable offering for sin. but Cain relied rather on his own works. but our works never fly with God.

Cain would have offered the correct sacrifice as seen by these words.

Gen 4:3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.
notice "in the process of time it came to pass" Denoting that Cain did not ordinarily bring fruit for an offering but in this case did. This tells us that Cain knew what was right and had been doing the right thing up to this point. this is also indicated in Gods words to Cain as you mentioned.

Gen 4:7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

The indication is that Cain knows what is the right thing and what will be accepted. we know also what the right thing is and what will be accepted. because Able left an example.

Gen 4:4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:
Gen 4:5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.

God respected and accepted Able offering of His flock. but not Cains fruit offering. clearly the issue is over the offering. Cains attitude comes after the offering is rejected not before thus the attitude is not the issue initially.

There can be no doubt that on careful examination it is the offering that was wrong which followed with a wrong attitude etc. This shows that both Cain and Able understood what the sacrifice was about.

Rev 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Blessings hope this helps.

Cain is compared to a false teacher in Jude. Cain's sin was to bring an offering of the ground which was already cursed by God. The blood sacrifice of Abel looked to the future and the blood that would be shed by Christ for humanity. Cain offered his works and was rejected. Cain out of jealousy rose up and killed Abel. Cain was offered the opportunity to repent (the verses you used) and this also was rejected by Cain. Cain was the 1st in the line of ungodly as well as lost. Cain's lineage was wiped out in the flood. Cain should have repented, got right with God and trusted God...he chose poorly!

When God gave His light to the world on the first day God gave all of His essence to our world. Blood symbolizes much of this light.

Christ, as Christ lived with us in the body and was crucified, was planned as part of our redemption plan from the beginning. Remember John 1:1: In the beginning was the word. That word was Christ, and it is the blood of Christ that was shed for us that saves us. If you use your concordance to look up atonement, meaning the reconciliation between God and people, you will find that blood is always involved.

God's law came the first day of creation, God established His order. It wasn't established the day it was written on stone tablets to tell Hebrews how to act on God's law, it was from the beginning. Cain and Abel knew of this law, for they knew sacrifice was needed. It has always been through blood that we are saved, it has always been grace. When Cain used the work of his hands to achieve grace, he was breaking God's law.

Ok let me put it in simpler terms. God =Lord God? Or are God and Lord God different beings? Also are Lord and Lord God the same or are they different beings? Are God and Lord separate beings? If you have an answer to this answer with their names so we all will know truth. If you cannot provide their names don't answer because you are wrong....repent! Go to your "LORD" whoever it may be and hope you are freed before you are caught up and your soul is theirs.

An animal sacrifice... Did you not see what Able offered that God agreed with??
