IF you notice in all the videos the flame is right up on the snowball. Not at a distance. IF they placed the flame a couple inches away it would have melted like normal.

No, I'm gonna take your word for it, you made perfect sense. I hope you had fun with the experiment and thank you a bunch for posting the results, I feel a whole lot better about the situation.
