On the topic of music and lyrics...were there any songs that you realized what you're singing isn't what the actual lyrics are??

Me first, this one I got wrong as a kid and it just stuck:
Bad Moon Rising by CCR

Actual lyrics:
"Don't go around tonight,
Well, it's bound to take your life,
There's a bad moon on the rise."

My version:
"There's a bathroom on the right"

When Alien Ant Farm redid that song by Michael Jackson "Smooth Criminal"...there's a part in the song where it says "Annie are you Ok" really fast. I always thought it said "I need rogaine"....apparently it wasn't just me. It came on the radio on a school bus one time when I was in middle school. Everybody was singing it and saying "I need rogaine, rogaine, rogaine I need". lol
 
There's this old song called Louie Louie that no one could figure out for the longest time, but now thanks to the internet anyone can just look up the lyrics but if you tried to figure them out by ear it was pretty impossible. They used to play it in bars a lot. Yes, I used to go to bars with my friends (I wasn't always a christian) :p

There's a popular classic rock song called "Drift Away".

A lot of people mistake the lyrics for: "Give me the Beach Boys and free my soul cause I want to get lost in your rock n roll and drift away..."

but its actually "Give me the beat boys and free my soul..."

Lol, I heard it! I've literally had several dozen of these over the years, but particulars escape me currently I'm afraid.
 
I do it all of the time if I don't know the lyrics or can't understand them I'll just make up my own randomly. Because I'm cool like that:cool:
 
It definitely doesn't help that all song lyrics websites are laden with ads, popups, and viruses. Seriously, with all the technology we have today, can't someone invent a stinking website with song lyrics that won't turn your computer into a useless heap?

Pearl Jam was my favorite band when I was 13. Used to love this song. I still to this day have no idea what he was really saying in yellow ledbetter. This vid did a great job guessing, lol!! I always heard it as "wizard on a wave" not "wizard on a whale". Hilarious vid. xD
 
My illustrious brother heard Bob Seger on this iconic Chevrolet commercial when he was young.

For months, he was going around the house singing, "WHEN I GROW UP! SONNY BOY!" (In the version of the commercial they were playing at the time, the commercial cut off in mid 'standing arrow straight'.)
