GIFTS DIRECTLY FROM THE HAND OF GOD (I bumped my keyboard..oops)

We absolutely know that Jesus is a gift of love. Have you ever received a tangible gift that you knew came directly from the hand of God?

Mine:

I left my piano with my family when I moved from Texas. I really wanted one, but being a young married person with a little one, it seemed foolish to spend so much money on something like that. A couple of days after I'd been thinking about it, I received a call from a small country church that was remodeling. They had an old upright piano they wanted to get rid of. All we had to do was come and get it. :) It needed a lot of tlc, but we restored it beautifully. :)

As you probably know, I love dogs, and I had wanted a cocker spaniel since I'd since the movie Lady and The Tramp as a little girl. Years back I received a call from my boss. She said that the local vet was refusing to return a cocker spaniel to an owner who had seriously abused it and they were trying to find a home for it. :)

I may have shared this before, I don't remember. But when it comes to God's blessings, we can't share them enough, can we?

Have a blessed Christmas everyone!

You know, what I find interesting about your story is that the gifts that came from God were far from perfect when you found them and required a lot of love, time, patience and loving care to make them shine and to bring out their true beauty which was really always there but could not be seen because it was hidden beneath all of the dust, broken parts, injuries and pain that the previous years had bestowed upon it.

I can say without a doubt, that my car was a gift from God.

I really didn't need a car at the time, because I didn't have my license yet, but I really wanted one. Anyway, I had heard something about speaking things that are not as if they were while watching Joel Osteen one day. So I started telling my friends that somebody was going to give me a car, even though I was kind of joking at first. After a while I started believing what I was telling myself and everybody around me, I even started looking forward to it.

One day one of my brothers friends was telling me about how she was getting a new car for her graduation present. I asked her what she was doing with the car that she has and she said she didn't know. I said jokingly "How about you just give it to me?" she replied without hesitation "Ok, you can have it." I was like WHHAAAAT? I asked her for how much and she told me she was giving it to me. She signed off the title and that was it. The car did have a blown head gasket and needed a new motor, but everything else was in excellent condition (except for the butterfly decal that I scraped off of the back window) lol.

It sat in my driveway for over a year before I even got my drivers license. Ever since dropping a new motor in it, this car has run like a champ! I even took my first cross country roadtrip in it to southern California, up and down the west coast and back to Ohio. It still blows my mind to think about the idea of having a car given to me that wasn't a heap of scrap, but it happened! GOD IS GREAT! Faith the size of a mustard seed can move mountains, believe that!

very nice :)

A day ago my father scored a good job after around a year of unemployment. In this economy, I'd say that was a gift from above.

Thats awesome! You know, I hear some christians say bad things about Joel O., but he helped me a lot in my faith and understanding of God's word.

I have heard a lot of those things too, and Joel helped me grow in my faith also. I used to watch him every morning before work, and I have read a couple of his books. Even though what he teaches is not chapter by chapter and verse by verse and he does a lot of paraphrasing of the Word, he really encouraged me in the beginning of my Christian walk.

Same here. I have a couple of his books too and I listened to him as often as I could. Some of his sermons were so relative to what I was going through that they brought me to tears..tears of joy because I was hearing how God can and wants to help me. I still watch him now and then.

very nice :)

Thank you, Dianna.

Now, as far as gifts I have received from God, He has given me many wonderful talents and abilities, but I think I am wasting them and not sure if I have what it takes to put them to good use. I'll just list a few so I don't sound too narcissistic.. I can draw and paint, I can take great photographs, I can play the drums, I've been told that I'm a good writer (once by my english teacher), I have an almost photographic memory, and it seems that I excel at everything I put my mind to...even in learning about God and the bible. I am really grateful to have these gifts, and I can only ask God's mercy for my letting them go to waste. *sigh* One day I will put them to good use. One day...

I remember hearing a message at church once that people weren't being specific enough about what they pray for. So later when I was at home with my mother, who had heard the same message, we started talking about what item she wanted, a sewing machine, and I said we should pray for a portable one that hides away easy, but she said she always wanted an old fashioned foot treadle machine, one of the original singers like she had learned on. So we both prayed for an antique Singer. The next day at lunch her friend at work had just that, and antique Singer foot treadle sewing machine, in the back of her wagon, looking to get rid of it. She even loaded it into my mother's car for her.

That is PERZACTLY what I'm talkin' about! AWESOME :)

This was a gift to our entire family and a long story, so I'll try to make it short.

Back in 1997 My mom and dad sold everything they had and we moved down to Wimberly, Texas with my dad's family. Things didn't work out down there and we ended up moving back to ohio a few months later. With nowhere else to go, my parents and my brother and I moved into my mom's parents' mobile home. We were all crowded into the spare bedroom and all slept in the same bed.

Lent was coming up and my dad had suggested to my mom fasting from red meat, so she did. Not too long after Easter, my mom got a call from one of her friends who was well aware of our living situation. She had told my mom that they were moving and that they wanted to give us their mobile home, which they had paid off some years ago. It wasn't in the best of shape and needed a lot of repairs and such, but it was definately livable. GOD had blessed us with our own home through my mom's friend!

I hope that all who read this will see the glory and the goodness of our Almighty Father in heaven. GOD is GREAT! I can't thank Him enough for all the blessings that He has poured on us, and all these blessings are available to all of God's children if only you believe :)

Thats amazing!

When i was about 17 i was driving 2 other friends back to the house for pizza and movies, woot. On the drive home, on a higher speed, unlit, one lane each way road, a car coming the other direction came into my lane, head on. I swerved out of instinct, right in the direction of the 10 foot drop into a canal. But the other drivers car hit the rear of mine pushing me away from the canal. My car slid sideways right down the middle of the yellow line, i'd say a good 50 ft. It was raining, otherwise we would have rolled. A third car was involved, that hit the car that hit us, but we still managed to miss them completely. An off duty police officer witnessed the entire accident. And he had a cell phone (remember, this was 19 yrs ago). He had the call into 911 before we even got out of our cars. Also, i didn't have to worry about fighting over blame as the cop saw it was clearly the other drivers fault.
No one was hurt. On top of that, a friend of mine, and her daughter, were driving from a weekly meeting. She always drove home the same route, but this night she decided to take a different way home. Her daughter just caught a glimpse of me as they drove by, so they stopped to check it was really me. Once the police were done taking reports etc, she drove us all 2 blocks to the hospital to be checked out. i had shattered glass all over my face, but only one small cut on my nose. Then she drove us all home. Turns out the next night i had a meeting at her house, and she was able to plan ahead to pick me up beforehand.
My car was totaled. And the pizza didn't make it either : / haha
