my wife, Thea, is on a 2 week girl's vacation again down south. i'm glad for her. she has steady friends to social around with down there & up in N.Y. they'll enjoy sightseeing, golf, reading, gourmet dining, beach time & who knows what else. pray for safe flights & i thank you.

I have never actually had a girls vacation myself. I have never really had close friends to travel with, so the few times I have travelled, I have usually gone alone. Your wife is lucky to have such good friends to share these experiences with. I hope they have a wonderful time together and I will be happy to pray for safe travels. 🙏

thank you so much. i wish for you to experience "girl vacations". you will enjoy everlasting memories. my older brother goes on "guy vacations", just the guys. i have never went on vacations with my friends for even a week. a weekend, yes. they love to golf & drink! i'm going to say she's not lucky but blessed. there isn't any luck, fate or chance in a Christian's life, it's all blessings.

What are you going to do while she's away? Look after the house? Well I wish her all the best. By drink do you mean drinking tea/soda or some other kind of drink.

If go down south in my country you going to freeze in the snow.

golf is not popular in NZ? wealthy women play tennis & golf around here. same stuff i always do: cook, clean, dine out, read the Bible, study my 325 verses i have memorized which no one believes but when i start reciting them, then they believe, work, search for antiques, attend sales, play drums, assist the elderly & handicapped voluntarily, exercise, ride my bike, dine out, stroll out in the country gazing at the farms, watch & listen to pastors on the radio, watch the yankees, visit a friend or two, search for new investments & i'm preparing for 2 huge buyouts of antiques in which 1 is retiring to France.
 
only for rich foreigners.

I don't know many wealthy women, or any women that play golf for fun. The only women I know that play golf and tennis are the ones in the world championships and only because I see them on tv.
 
Women here prefer netball, running marathons, rugby.

Anyway, it doesn't bother me, I can now go on a video game vacation on Hello Kitty Adventure Island. For free. So far the fun things I have done is explore the island and reef with friends, we had a barn dance, went to a comedy club, a haunted house, went down a mineshaft gathering crystals inside a cave, gone fishing, diving for treasure.....the gals have been busy crafting and baking gifts and the boys are in a band.

fantastic! that's a lot of joyous & memorable events. do it as long as you can. i very much enjoy the diversity in countries activities.
 
Rotorua has lots of fun activities for people wanting a vacation and fun time. There's also Queenstown in the South Island which is 'the adventure capital' but its very expensive now to go there and stay.

Surfers Paradise in Australia and the Gold Coast - they have all the amusement parks and beaches for a fun day out on their doorstep, and places to stay.

I mean you can find good vacation spots anywhere if you look hard enough, but for groups that want to all have fun a resort or a cruise ship or a small island is probably the way to go where it's all in one place.

I only remember having ONE vacation (or as we call it holidays) growing up. Also back then if you wanted to stay anywhere, you just drive around looking for a vacancy sign at a motel. Well thats what my dad did lol. He didn't know to call or book first.

quite kool about the vacation places you mentioned. i say a lot of people who think cruise ship vacations aren't right for them really ought to try them. they would be surprised. we took 3 vacations when we were kids. my mom & dad took us to Averill Park New York twice & the Sacandaga Lake for a 1 week camp vacation. i remember often seeing people pulled to the side of the road looking at a map for directions. sure, the vacancy sign, that's all you had sometimes!

They still have i-sites around where tourists can go get maps etc.

Have you been to...Atlantic City? I heard that's a fun place to go to for those on the East Coast of the USA, esp New Yorkers/Jersey ppl. Fairgrounds, amusement rides, beach etc.

yes, i have been to Atlantic city, i used to vacation there. i was there for the very 1st martin luther king day holiday, Jan. 20th, 1986.
& the weather was perfect. i won $200 also at the spinning wheel game. i stayed at the tropicana hotel. foddering was totally excellent.

Then go to FAO shwarz and jump around on the piano keys?

lol I watch too many movies.
 
I like to verify what happens on TV/in movies with real people who live in the locations in the US where they film them.

Otherwise I get accused by peeps on CC who insist life in the US isn't like that.

But people many people in Aussie say that Kath and Kim is just like their families/way they live. And it is funny to see your own life on screen, and some it is actually how people do live/speak etc.

Like outrageous Fortune, stereotypes Westies where I live, and there ARE people just like the West family (and with the same names even) so...there's truth in those shows too.

It was on TV, which is how we see a lot of movies...its free, we don't have to pay if it's showing on TV. Did you not have a TV?
It seems like everyone has at least one TV in their house.

I grew up watching TV. Like I never knew a time without it. But TV has only been broadcasting since the late 1960s I believe, and back then it used to be Black and White. Movies would show in the evening. You'd just sit on the couch the entire time, eyes glued to the screen until there was an ad break, but some people still watch the ads and don't get up off the couch at all.

the late 1940's saw the 1st use of tv's by the masses. it was a kid that invented the tv! name: philo farnsworth. he worked on the idea as a kid, put it away, then returned with his work on it in later years.
