Does anyone think it's ok with God to give to charity and then get a tax deduction or credit on it?
To me, giving a gift is not trading for it or getting something for it in return else how can you call it a gift?

Matt6:23But when you give to the poor, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4so that your giving will be in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you. Up to each person

Do you think the one receiving your gift cares?
Get the refund/deduction and donate it to a good cause...the govt. probably won't

As it is written, justification on Christian giving, according to Matthew 6;1-4 that:

"Beware or practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your FATHER who is in Heaven. Thus when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they my be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your FATHER who sees in secret will reward you."
