God HATES Divorce!!!

Then tell me my friend, did Paul learn about him from the bible? And tell me, did Moses learn about him from the bible? What about Abraham? Noah? Adam? And who was before Adam, was it not Jesus? Indeed!! Jesus taught me, by his Spirit. So indeed, he doesn't need the bible to teach me. May Jesus bless you.
 
Those are some excellent points! I concur that we jump the gun time and time again, and should examine who we are in Christ. Best not to ever cast aside a wife without Biblical grounds. Better yet, just let them go. False Christians are everywhere, and that is THE key to finding the right spouse as a Christian. It is clear who does what in Christian marriage, and it would be nice to find some fellow Christians who can understand and have ambition to serve those principles out...live them out, proving who they are in Christ. Peoples' priorities and conduct is often sooooo far from being consistent with scripture it is mind boggling. God save us all from ourselves!
 
I do think divorce is wrong,but I do not think it should be taken to the extreme it is today. There are many sins mentioned in the Bible like killing, hating, adultery, lust, lying, stealing, and many others. We should be a body of believers who forgive each other and not keep driving this divorce issue into the ground. I know it is wrong and so does everyone else. If I were a divorced person, I wouldn't want to walk into the church. We send the message that we almost are not willing to accept divorced people!
 
I heard a sermon recently on this very subject, is divorce a sin? YES, is it the unforgivable sin , NO. This pastor said he had counceled couples YEARS, one couple in particular, whom the wife had been abused, several times, and the husband always said sorry, so he always counceled the wife to stay in the marriage, dont leave, it will get btter, this went on for several years, she would get beat, he would appologize , the pastor counceled her to stay , dont divorce , you have a little girl, hes sorry, etc, ....then , the husband put poison in the drink the wife had, and the little girl wound up drinkin it before the mom did and she died. This pastor said he had to live with tellin this woman to stay every day of his life, and her little girl died. Thats gotta be rough, so yes, its a sin, YES God will forgive you, in these types of circumstances.
 
well i have to disagree..my last marriage started out great. then after 3 yrs into the marriage he turned abusive. with the beatings and such. he had no prob bringing his friends in late at night seeing as the back door was in our bed room and let them have their way w/me against my will. so when he got tired of me after 4 more yrs and threw me and my daughter out we left the county. we have gone into hiding cant find us and i have been blessed w/a wonderful man of god. go ahead and condemn me because it cant hurt me any worse then what i have gone through. i just know my lord jesus answered my prayers that day that idiot ex kicked me out...
 
Hmm... I've read every post on this thread so far and I find it fairly interesting - more so about the fact that there are STILL self righteous Christians around making sure we don't miss out from drinking out of the cup of guilt. It's very easy to judge - HEY I can't talk about adultery. My husband is in his second marriage and though he is my first husband I still have my firstborn to another man.. to cut a long story short, we both commit(ed) adultery. Should I be answerable to Ramon? Meh.. I don't think so. Now, I have a tendency to judge those who killed. Murderers - how could they do such a thing? Some of these heinous crimes/ bloodshed we see around us are almost unimaginable yet it is happening. In my head, they should receive the greater judgement BUT it's not so to God. Be it adultery, murder or stealing a lolly from a shop - it's all the same to God - a SIN. It's a good thing He is GOD ALMIGHTY and not Ramon - otherwise who will be saved??

If you had listened to God almighty should you not obey him? If anything I said was of my own then you might have a reason to say such a thing. Indeed, you answer to God not to me.

If anyone has read this with condemnation in them then they are condemned. But those who are justified by Jesus know they are. But those who suppose they are are offended. As it was written that there is no condemnation for those in Christ, who walk after the Spirit and not after the flesh.

So, say you marry someone and all is good and then you find out he is a murdered. Or he abuses you, etc. Is it wrong to divorce them? No, I think not. Yes, marriage shouldn't be so loose and divorce rates shouldn't be as high, but that doesn't mean God hates all divorce.

God hates ALL divorce. We cannot justify our own pitfalls with God who is righteous. We cannot determine what God hates or likes based on OUR standards of what is wrong and what is right. If the sort of love people call love was the love of God, then Jesus would not have died for us, the very people who were the reason he died. I see now many people are not willing to give of themselves for the Love of God. I am being prepared for that type of love, as ALL Christians should.

God hates divorce, but people have hardened their hearts to the Love of God, by not being able to forgive and suffer for Love.

My friend, Moses, for the hardness of the hearts of the people of Israel permitted them to separate on the account of adultery, but in the beginning it was not so. The command is for husbands to love their wives as Christ loves the Church, and gave himself for it. Isn't this unconditional love? Don't we want to be like Jesus? If we cannot have this unconditional love when it comes to thing like marriage, how will the Lord be able to take us further in him? How will we forsake this life and be ready to die for Jesus then, who we have not seen?

But as for you, I will leave this between you and Jesus.

point is love your husbands as Christ loved the church. Women are to submit to their husbands. Love a woman and there is nothing she cannot do for you. The whole thing of divorce starts with men. A man cant love me then i go asking for a divorce no way! Men are looking for Proverbs 31 women, we need Ephesians 5 men and this will be a straight world.
On question of husbands beating their wives...i will beat him back such that he wont think about beating me again and i will not divorce him. ;-)

BUT THE DEVIL ENJOYS IT VERY MUCH. THE WORLD OF DARKNESS IS NOW JOYFULLY FEASTING ON IT.

HOWEVER, JESUS AND THE HOLY SPIRIT ARE GRIEVED AND THEIR POWER IS QUENCHED!

THE FATHER IN HEAVEN IS UNSPEAKABLE. BECAUSE L-O-V-E IS THE OPPOSITE OF DIVORCE IN RELATIONSHIP.

I think Jesus hates divorce too but I don't think He hates people for divorce for "fornication" because they really have one good reason!

There is no good reason to divorce with God, seeing as he is holy and righteous and understand longsuffering more than all of us. If he hated fornicators he would not have died for them. Yet, he did, and for all who do any sin, no sin is greater than any other and can be forgiven if the person is repentant. If a spouse is repentant, and has committed adultery, the other spouse should forgive them and not hold bitterness, because this can lead to murder through hatred. If the Lord forgave us, we ought to forgive too, I am sure you agree with this.

I believe people can be forgiven but I'm saying he would not be upset if you divorced your spouse for fornication. In Matthew 19 Jesus said that it's the only reason you can divorce!

Yes he would be very upset in any case. It was moses who permitted the children of Israel, but God never did. The Lord said that whatever He has joined together let NO MAN separate. As Christians we should know all the more what this means. We should know the meaning of marriage. This is one of the first big things the Lord taught me about, and it is a revelation if you can see it.

Marriage is a marvelous revelation, as there are many revelations in nature. Paul spoke of some of these revelations. But they all point to the salvation of Jesus Christ. Marriage was given as a sign of what the Lord God would do by joining his salvation to the children of Israel. We know now that this marriage is of the Church. This is why there was the command given, ''Husbands love your wives as Christ loved the Church and gave himself for it.''

So I say again, ''What God has joined together, let NO MAN, NOR WOMAN separate.''
