God Is Rich In Love

He brought us from the flesh to the Spirit. In Him we
were born into a new life. Is that automatic, so we by
accepting Him automatically are new creation. I don't
believe so. Yes through grace by faith we were saved.
But is that the end of it, does that mean we just stop
there. Again I don't believe so. I believe we need to
grow by reading His words and praying over them. It
is so we can grow in holiness and grow in spirituality so
that we can follow by the examples of Christ and then
become His message to the world. We are to become
the living Gospel, the surrogates of God. Belief comes
first, action comes second.

Our Christianity is a journey.

We walk on the narrow path.
We do our best not to be as the world is.
We've turned from darkness and walk toward the light,
Keeping our eyes Always focused on Jesus.
Keeping the Holy Spirit by our side, as He promised to be our helper.
When we fail and fall, we get up and keep going.
Ever trying to become more and more as our Lord.
Our blessing is in our trying.
Our failures will be forgiven.
With our eyes on Jesus we will fail less and less.
Until one day our journey ends, and we will be with Him.

I love your thoughts in written on the posting. If I woke up a month from now,
I would swear I wrote that a month ago, seriously, it's like you picked those
thoughts right out of my soul.

And yes that was Francis of Assisi. I remember using it on a Christian chat I used
to go to some years back. I got pounced on by about 10 people who said ...you
need to use the Word...we all need to use the word, what's wrong with you and
blah blah blah. Soon after but not only because of that, I left. I use the word all
the time after it passes the Spirit in my heart but some choose not to recognize
that. I mean, did Jesus walk around with a scroll and spit out the law verbatim or
did He put them in action. Now I'm venting..hehe. God bless you always.

Brilliant minds think alike !

It just came to me.
I don't consider it poetry or anything like that .. it was just some
thoughts about how I feel about our Christian walk.

We spend too much time arguing about this or that. If it's something
I feel drawn to or is important, I'll make my understandings known.
But we don't spend enough time just praising God for being able to know Him.

I love your poetry.
I'd miss it if you ever left here.

Re Francis of Assisi.

Why do some like to dismiss persons such as Francis?
Do they realize what an important figure he was for Christianity?
There are so many that were a light to our faith.

BTW, they'll dismiss Francis, but not these modern day writers and preachers that are a dime a dozen !

Figure that one out !

After salvation,we should present our bodies a living sacrifice,not conforming to the world but transforming to be who we have become,renewing our minds to the WORD of GOD so that we can prove what Is that good and acceptable and perfect will of GOD.

I agree about Francis...he lived the Christian life and much of what
he said and did was very Godly. Most don't want to leave that little
crack of allowing a pre reformation thought into their brain, lest they
might crumble and dry up. In my view, wisdom is wisdom regardless
of who said it. We just need to recognize what wisdom is.

Sometimes I read what Origen or Ignatius thought about Christian concepts.
They knew the Apostles!

Many times I've been told that their writings are not inspired.
It's unbelievable.
Some believe the Bible is God and not Jesus.
 
I totally agree with you in totality on that last post. When I first started coming to
Christian chats many years ago I was reading many things by many Christian authors.
Further to that, many different religions like Hindu Buddhism and others. Being naive,
I mentioned it once and immediately got descended upon from the entire peanut gallery.
I was unaware that seeking wisdom in other places was forbidden. I explained that
my faith was strong enough to endure reading other things without getting enticed by
them. That was not enough, the onslaught continued. I really wondered how people
can be so insecure in their faith that they tremble at the thought of being overcome
by other thoughts. I was not reading in search of another religion, I am totally committed
to my Lord Jesus Christ. I don't know but maybe Jesus sought wisdom wherever it came
from. Anyway I stay away from making those types of revelations now. It's good to
know that someone else has the courage to wander a little so thanks for that thought.

I'll read anything! I'm firmly achored in my beliefs.
And I'm not even afraid to say that I read the Early Church Fathers.
They were theologians --- some of the best minds EVER, not only of that time period.

My sister in law attends a Nazarene Church in Queesn, NY. She told me that they're studying
early Church history. She said it has changed her view about the catholic Church and about the
early theologians.

It's unfortunate that not all churches do this. All churches have made mistakes. We're all
just human. It's unfortunate that Christians hate each other due to doctrine that is not agreed upon.
I hate to say it, but it truly is satan at work.

There are many of those here who believe as we do. It's just that they try to be loving in a hostile environment
and they find it difficult to speak their mind.

As you may have noticed, I don't have this problem !!

Yes I have noticed you are truly open to the ways of God and are willing to
express them openly. That is a wonderful and holy way to be. God bless
you always, you are a true child of God. If Jesus followed only the status quo
we would still be Jews, if anything at all.
