So my older brother has had a child and has asked me to be its God-parent...and as we grew up Lutheran that is something we held to...that it demands you look after their child in a spiritual way, plus obligates you to look after them in other even material ways...but as I am not Lutheran, and if the term was to hold its truest/deepest meaning--I told him I would olve to but wasn't there anyone 'physically' closer that could look after her more meticulously? Then, I said I would be glad to as it springs from his believe that I am 'devout' and he doesn't know who else to choose--even for a God-mother--so he suggested I could be both God-father and God mother, if I wanted....
So do you believe in God parents? What are they? I used to have a feint reasoning that if my parents died, it obligates your God parents to raise you and look after you...is this true?
Just wondering...
God bless
