Hi everyone! Just wanna share something. I'm from the Philippines. I'm17 yrs old.
This is just recent this year.
I was 4th yr highschool and I was already graduating. I have always been an honor student throughout my highschool years because I have it in my heart to be a valedictorian. But my last year has not been easy. It was tough I guess especially i was having battle on myself. It was my last year in highschool but it seemed like I was not taking it seriously. I mean I became very inconsistent on my performance. I felt like I have shift my focus. Sometimes I do good on my exams, and sometimes it was not so good.
I have been ranked top4 on the firstgrading, then became top1 on the second grading, on the 3rd, I became top 2. Obviously, itwas inconsistent. I mean few of us are really aiming to be the valedictorian. The one who is leading academically in the whole batch for the 4th grading and will be the valedictorian has not yet been revealed that time.
Then here goes the day, the most awaited day where the announcement of the valedictorian will happen. But night before thatday. My mom and I had a conversation. She knew my status academically that it was not consistent. Honestly, It's both our desire for me to be the valedictorian. But that night she was trying to condition my heart and my mind for whatever possible result will be for tom. I actuallycried. Because i've been rooting for being the valedictorian from the first time I stepped on that school. If you just don't know before everytime I will go to school. My mom will always pray and lay her hands on my head and declare that I am the vedictorian even though it's not yet happening. That's also became my habit. I keep telling myself "I am thehead and not the tail. On top and never at the bottom. I am highly favored and deeply loved. I am the valedictorian." Those words are exactly what I have been declaring to myself eversince. Because I believe what God said, declare things and it shall be established to you. Commit to the Lord whatever you do and your plans will succeed. I am a child of God. I believe Jesus has already given me the victory that's why i'm claiming it in the name of Jesus Christ. Not for my glory but all for the glory of God.
Then that night we just sealed it with a prayer before we sleep and just fully trust God.
The the next day was a very special and unforgettable day. Because it was the day I was announced as the valedictorian of our batch 2014-2015.
Yes! I just graduated this year on the month of March.
Well I could say is that I may not deserve it but God gave it to me. My victory is not because of my effort, it's the grace of God. Just like Jesus. We didn't deserve His life that was laid on the cross but because God loves us so much, He freely gave His son to us. Our salvation in Christ is free but it does not come cheap.
So let's always rejoice to God for we do not know, this may be the last days and Jesus would come soon. Let our hearts be prepared and continue to bring souls to God.
I hope you are blessed with what I shared.
