I think we can all agree “ you are saved by grace through faith and that not of yourselves so that none can boast . “

then I think we understand the term “ grace “very differently .

Is anyone willing to share some scriptures about what gods grace is and consider some also ?

i would share that Gods grace is a teacher of repentance and upright living in this world. While we anticipate the return of the lord who suffered and died to redeem us from all Iniquity and purify unto himself and by himself , a people for God .

which Ive heard from the apostle Paul’s. Letter to Titus a fellow minister in the word under Paul known also like Timothy , as “his son “ in the faith (Titus 1:4)

“For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts,

we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and Saviour Jesus Christ; who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.”
‭‭Titus‬ ‭2:11-15‬ ‭

This is Paul’s letter to someone he appointed to oversee the church he had planted So it should have some credibility and merit as much as would his letter to Timothy for the same purpose

I would also add the source of thie grace of god that teaches us repentance and righteousness which is in the gospel according to John . the apostle .

“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth. ….And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.

For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.”
‭‭John‬ ‭1:14, 16-17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

what have you learned from scripture about gods grace and from what verses ? Maybe we could learn some more about grace from the Bible

Once anyone chooses to believe God personally, between God and themselves, the new life offered begins in each one to learn new from God, what is done by Son for them to move forward in Thanksgiving and praise over God doing it, (The perfect Law of love) for us to see to rest and not use it for any self gain.
Ephesians 1:13
in whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Ephesians 4:30
And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

Sealed by God from the first day anyone chooses God in belief of risen Son Jesus for them. To learn from any and all mistakes made after words

To see Eph 1:6;7 through the done work of Son in his resurrection we are saved by God and nothing else, just one choice left, to believe or not to God Father of in risen Son.
Romans 14:14
I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
This leaves me to see, it is what "I" do with anything that makes it unclean or not. Since all things are cleansed by God through Son forever, I can rejoice and seek from Father how to not do, what I know ow to not do, and get taught new, without anymore pride or guilt anymore, What? Yeah!
1 Corinthians 1:19
For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.

This is now done through Son's one time done work here on earth first. yet there are those still out and about that are prideful, which I have been that myself and see that can happen again to me, being in a unredeemed body, I reckon now as dead Romans 6:1-12. daily
This fight between self and the Spirit of Father in the risen, still tries to get in and knockout saved by grace from God forever, trying too get me to be in charge, no thanks!
He Yelled on that cross, "It is finished" (John 19:30) what is Finished? (Matthew 5:17) is what is finished for us to believe, see new from God Father in risen Son, to learn new from, and not be under Law any longer, now uphold law by this grace given us. Father does this forever by Father's Spirit and Truth to keep us as forgiven, as reconciled (2 Cor 5:17-20) (Romans 8)
Romans 8:38-39
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Religion(s) teach that sin can and Rom 8:38-39, teach that is not true
Jesus meant it is finished, Done for us to be made new, for all that choose to believe God over works of self and others of the flesh as well. at least me.

What is so amazing is, this truth is a gift to appreciate and enter his throne in thanksgiving and praise Psalm 100:4, to see what is done by Son on that cross for us Psalm 103:12 and stand in this truth. Even if you still sin, not wanting to, and yet do per Romans 7 as Paul explains
And ends with 7 that only God can do the truth through you and starts Romans 8:1-3 to see truth and rest in thankfulness, I, you and no one else has to do anything to get in. You choose to, stand in thankfulness and ask Daddy, PaPa, Father what to do, how to do new by remaining in trust, and thankfulness, repented from dead works.
No more manipulating anyone, no more forcing anyone, no more being anyone better than anyone else. No more condemning, excusing or accusing.

In the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible, grace is defined as God's unmerited love and favor, which is the source of all benefits and blessings. It encompasses various meanings, including:

GRACE - Definition from the KJV Dictionary - AV1611.com

47 Bible Verses about Grace - KJV - DailyVerses.net
My favorite verse revealing Gods grace is John 3:16. Don't get any better than that IMO. :)

john 3:16 is really a good one to exhibit his grace towards us for sure.

Saved by grace thru faith, doesn't mean 'now I can do whatever I want' as many have said.

Some one could try and go their own way after salvation, but they would get discipline from God to return to the narrow path.

If they are in a church, they may get discipline from the pastor and elders. They could get kicked from their church.

God may also end their life if it is serious sin, and bring them 'home' to stop them affecting others.

Yes, and studying what God wants believers to do after being saved is the subject of the Didache thread.

Oooooh so that’s what Didache means.
You speaka le English gooda.

For while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.

To me this is the most profound verse that stops me in my tracks. Humbles me in a very real way.
Placing my needs before his humility, my healing above his pain, paying the ransom that I did not know existed.
Enduring a curse that was not his. Claiming responsibility for my faults.
What greater love is this that he lay down his life for mine.
Grace comes in many forms but to sit and consider that he thought I was worth it is simply mind boggling and heart wrenching.

Ephesians 2:8
New American Standard Bible
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
To me this means continually till the end. God showed me recently that christians don't fully believe in in His grace.
God's grace is fully sufficient! Most christians believe enough to get them across the line, but doesn't know/understand the FULLNESS of His Grace to believe His favor will make you more than a conquerer by His calling and empowerment to work in His kingdom!

Yeah the op sort of begins with that verse .

“I think we can all agree “ you are saved by grace through faith and that not of yourselves so that none can boast . “

yeah Gods grace is definately an important factor , so is faith.

Was hoping to discuss what the Bible teaches about grace . For Instance do you find tbat Jesus teaches believers in his doctrine to be gracious to others who may not deserve it ? As he has been gracious towards us when we didn’t deserve it ?

Do you see grace in this teaching ?

“But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: ( <<<mutual grace )give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall be given into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭6:27-28, 35-38‬ ‭

Or in this ?

“Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭18:21-22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Do you see gods grace in things like that ? How it’s a mutual thing ?

definitely, how under Law leads to grace to see from God for each person personally and choose to believe God in it all. God just loves us all (1 John 2), went to the cross willingly to save us each in his risen life (Death was to reconcile us all first as forgiven first), completed as in John 19:30. Presently if, or since people will choose to believe or not, after seeing the annihilation of themselves trying to do Law and can't do it, not perfect ever. Those thinking they got it, are in pride and play God like the Pharisees did in Jesus's day here on earth in the only flesh that was/is ever perfect for us all to believe and follow willingly, still real to this day, to me at least. which is grace given us to be new in love and mercy as he did this once for us all (Hebrews 10:10) going to that cross to begin with, to reconcile us all first (2 Cor 5:156-20)
God loves us all, Died once in the flesh for us all, for anyone to choose to be dead to the flesh as well, willingly, and then the new in Daddy's, PaPa's, Father's Spirit and Truth begins the new you in and through you. We start the growing to maturity in this grace from God given us through Son.
Hebrews 5:12-Chapter 6

There is no taking this for granted, those that are and doing it, are not saved, I do not know who is who, but God does and I stand in trust to God over it all, Thanks Pilgrims hope, I love the learning, learned pouring through you in living waters of your alive soul, God gives freely. amazing grace

Do you see grace teaching believers anything ?

“For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

but if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:14-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Do you notice he isn’t saying like the law “ if anyone commits a sin they are doomed and condemned ?

But rather he’s speaking to people who have sinned already saying “ if you forgive those who sin against you , your father will also forgive your sins “
