I can show you 4 cases where people who were filled with the Holy Ghost and spoke in tongues.

Acts 2, 10, 19 and I can't show you where Paul was but we know he did.

Acts 8, I can't show you were they spoke in tongues but I can show you that Phillip knew they didn't get it and sent for John and Peter for them to come and pray to get it.

Can you show me where someone was filled with the Holy Ghost and was filled with love instead of speak in tongues.

We were almost caught in proverbial ping-pong, but you said one thing that might move the discussion forward: "show me".

"Show me" is an improvement on "prove", because nothing can be proved; all we can do is show (2Cor. 5:7).

Thus, I will show readers of this thread one more time evidence that Spirit-filling is now and eternally manifested by divine love:

John 13:35, Romans 5:5, Galatians 5:6, Ephesians 3:16-19, 1 Corinthians 13:8-13, etc.

I cannot speak for you, or anyone else. I can only trust Go Father of risen Son Jesus to lead, as I am in process learning new daily. Learning Luke 21:14-15 to stand in Col 1 :21-23, John 19:30, God simply, loves us all as in 1 Cor 13:4-7. Me forsaking any righteousness of my own. I have righteousness, and can only share what is given me in love and mercy to all and not argue over what anyone else sees or not sees. thanks as we grow daily in this love and mercy given us first.

We love him, because he first loved us. I see that now, I have no righteousness of my own ever, thanks
Love from God to us all, to be willing to hear and share in care to all

SINCE YOUR trying to prove these WRONG you need to show me somewhere where someone if filled with the Holy Ghost and instead of speaking in tongues they are filled with love.

I think you have my words mixed up, I'M SORRY.

Being filled with the Holy Ghost is a part of being reborn.

We should love one and the other without the Holy Ghost like JESUS did, but after we get the Holy Ghost we should get more than just love.

Paul said when you are filled with the Holy Ghost these things will happen,
Acts 2:33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

JESUS says this will happen when you are filled.
Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;


Paul explains what happens to us after we are filled.

Ephesians 4:11-13
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

I was interested in tongues and have started threads about it before. A couple well intentioned folks said they could teach me how, but that didn't make sense to me. Scripture says it is the Holy Spirit praying for us because we don't know how to pray right. It's also in scripture that HS prays to God for us and on our behalf. So I thought, how in the world could I speak for the HS? I can't that would be fake, and no one could teach me either because who can put words in the HS mouth? No one.

So I kept praying about it on and off and one day I was sitting at my computer and not even thinking about tongues and was about to pray a different prayer. When I opened my mouth to speak, The HS hit me hard and I began speaking but the words were in tongues! I knew this had to be the HS! So I knew enough to stand down and listen and not say anything until He is finished!

Presently He finished and then, I sent up my feeble prayer, lol.

So that's how Speaking in Tongues happened to me and I was Baptized in the HS. So it isn't just for that time or just the Apostles. It is for everyone. I have woke up before (several times in fact) speaking in tongues, and I just let Him finish!

I have learned over time that I can initiate the Holy Spirit to pray in tongues for me. It doesn't work all the time so sometimes I am shutting up and sometimes He takes off talking in Tongues.

So it is real and you are wrong on this one point friend.

That's what's good about experience. I'm not at the mercy of the one with Doctrine.

Ask the HS to pray in Tongues on your behalf. Keep asking until it happens.

But of course! Actually I had already prayed it many times and I have been healed by the Lord too in one way.

The Apostles prayed scripture many times I hear. God loves that when we pray scripture to Him! I was dumb enough to ask the Lord one time why He quoted scripture to the devil when being tempted by the devil in the desert. He said, because He couldn't improve on it for the situation!

That was a good answer for me and made me feel like I asked a dumb question, lol.

Yeah. To be honest I'm not comfortable with him posting his creed on other forum threads and promoting it like it's on par with God's own word or better.

You asked for the reason of His position and so now he needs to sleep on it before he gives you his answer? (I do that a lot!)

You see all of us are on the same side, on the narrow path...I like to call it the yellow brick road because the streets of heaven are said to be paved with Gold Bricks. So. Yellow brick road.

One direction leads to God and we all start in the same place, but all people do not connect with the Lord at the same time. When we are on the yellow brick road we begun walking and there are people behind us who have not been walking the path so we know more than they do so to speak. But others are way ahead of us!

And since we are all of the body of Christ, he might be a foot and you might be a hand. Can a foot understand a hand? Probably not! Can a hand understand a foot? Probably not! But that can't mean that we are not unified in Christ so we prolly shouldnt bicker about it. If he hears you and grows in his understanding, then, Praise the Lord! But no one can be expected to know something they were never taught, They are only wrong in that they have minor incorrect doctrine, but are right because we are all the body of Christ, one Spirit, one God, one people. Unified. It is possible!

He does ethically owe you an answer at this point. Scripturally.
