Not sure what about the google thing is making you think it's about gays? The fact that it's different colors? The olympic rings have always been multi-colored? The quote? Not about gays in my opinion. Could very well be talking about ANYONE.
I don't think I've read a single post from you that hasn't injecting some manner of hatred toward Christians. Do you EVER build people up instead of knocking them down?

I don't believe it applies to anything with multiple colors in it. Technically, ALL colors are present in the rainbow - in the order of the light spectrum. ( i.e., Red >> Orange >> Yellow >> Green >> Blue >> Violet )

This may be a bit off topic here but I've been looking at the Olympics.
Many of the nations pay their athletes to train and for winning medals. The U.S. is better than most but even the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) pays athletes for medals: $25,000 for gold, $15,000 for silver and $10,000 for bronze and hosts training facilities athletes are invited to train at for free.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is the public face of the Olympics overseeing and funding the day-to-day work of the national Olympic committees around the world.
The IOC’s income generates hundreds of millions of dollars due to corporate sponsorships, especially the selling of broadcast rights. They sell all TV and internet rights for billions to corporate media networks relinquishing the right to any viewing control of the Olympics.
The result is they lose all control of what gets advertised and when and how the Olympics are broadcast. This is true even to the point that the viewing the opening ceremonies live was banned. This impacts not only the U.S., but also other countries which cannot afford to broadcast the games.
So how can it then be universal if it's another corporate racket to a large extent?
According to the International Olympic Committee, “Olympism is a philosophy of life, which places sport at the service of mankind.” Their Olympic Charter has five “fundamental principles,” asserting “social responsibility,” “respect for universal fundamental ethical principles,” “the preservation of human dignity,” “solidarity,” “fair play,” “friendship,” and the list goes on.
Yet lately, they've increasingly highlighted the growing social inequality.
I think the Olympics do still serve their intended purposes... but the extent they do that is devaluing as control is relinquished to corporatism and special interests.
Just a few thoughts.

This sounds all warm and fuzzy. Too bad its not representative of the truth.
As I understand it, the law in russia prohibits the promotion of homosexuality.
This is one law I don't have a problem with. No gays are going to jail for being gay. The state is recognizing the destructive behavior of homosexuality and is prohibiting it...just like other laws do...drugs...murder etc.
Now, these kinds of laws can be abused, of course and Russia's human rights stands historically are not very good but....
would be nice not to see on every new sitcom another wonderful gay charactor...
to turn on the news and see homosexuality being equated with civil rights which is an abomination straight from the pits of hell.
Remember, no gay person is being arrested in Russia for being gay....they just cannot promote it.
Now, having said all of that, I am a little uncomfortable about the law as well. The great thing about freedom is also the worst thing about freedom....idiotic people are allowed to do damaging things. Not sure where to draw the lines.....
but I am glad someone is stepping up and saying the truth...homosexuality is bad for society

Christians aren't being rounded up and thrown in prison to be life long felons after being bankrupted for refusing to promote homosexuality in Russia as has begun in the U.S.. Nothing from Google on that though. So far they are ignoring tyranny against Christians from homosexuals.

You can't have it both ways. If someone passes legislation that you don't agree with you can't call them a fascist, yet at the same time look at a different piece of legislation and say it's a good thing.
You've got to give people the freedom to make their own mistakes. Otherwise you start rationalizing that you know better than someone else does and you're on a moral crusade to protect them from themselves.
As for right wingers, not all conservatives are happy when they see people legislated into a corner. A true conservative doesn't want the government doing jack squat to infringe upon any one's rights, whether they agree with that person or not - otherwise when the pendulum comes back down and swings the other way, then rights they care about end up on the chopping block.
Seriously. Think about this for a little while before making an emotional response. This is a serious observation here and not a dig.

I'll go on record right now and say I don't like any of Russia's laws or system of government. You've gone on record saying it's personally reasonable for right wing Americans to be pro-Russia. Fine.. we've drawn that line. I suspect if this was 1984 we'd be having a different convo, but it seems Conservatives have moved on from totalitarian regimes and hate everything brown skinned with a turban now.

I love this sort of thing. It's like when someone says they disagree with everything the Catholic church teaches. I know it's used for other groups, but this is the one I hear most often. Everything Catholics teach is from the devil.
