Notice he didn't say, "He that is not baptized shall be damned."[/QUOTE]
Yes absolutely I have said that maybe twenty times since I’ve been on this site.
you guys aren’t hearing me . I’ve never spoken about baptism as a way someone’s condemned ever.
I’ve always just made the point of what it says baptism is for in the holy scriptures
“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
Acts 2:38 KJV
Notice also we don’t have to do it in tbat order . We could receive the holt ghost just because we heard and believed the word of the gospel . And then we still need to get baptized for remission of sins because that’s the part of the doctrine that deals with it .
Receiving the Holy Ghost isn’t because we get baptized it’s because we believe the gospel
“And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree: him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly; not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead. And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.
To him give
all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.”
Acts 10:39-44 KJV
The next thing Peter commands is for them to be baptized in water in Jesus name.
“For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,
Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized,
which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
And
he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.”
Acts 10:46-48 KJV
So it’s not tbat we have to get baptized and then we’re allowed to receive the spirit we get baptized for this reason we believe this
“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;”
1 Corinthians 15:3 KJV
and so we get baptized for this reason by faith believing that
“Then Peter said unto them,
Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, “
Receiving the Holy Ghost doesn’t remit our sins baptism into the name and body of Christ does because it’s only him who suffered and died for us.
Paul is telling us the process of baptism and what it means by faith
why we got baptized into Christ Jesus and what it meant for us who believed the doctrine of baptism for remission of sins and partook
“Know ye not, that
so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death
death is the price for sin ) that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
For
if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, ( baptized ) we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin.
( remission of sin )
But God be thanked, that
ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ( because he’s addressing those who got baptized into Christ ) ye became the servants of righteousness.
For
the wages of sin is death;( why Jesus had to die for remission ) but
the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Romans 6:3-7, 17-18, 23 KJV
“Wherefore,
my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; ( because you were baptized into Christ who died for your sins to remit them ) that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.
But
now we are delivered from the law, ( we died to it tbrough baptism into Christ death for sin ) that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.”
Romans 7:4-6 KJV
baptism is of faith we should t be telling people “ you’ll be lost if you don’t get baptized “ and we shouldn’t be telling people “ you don’t need to get baptized it’s not about remission of sins in Jesus name there’s another gospel and another baptism “
we should be sharing where baptism came from , what baptism is and what it means for us who partake. According to Gods word. Then people will themselves have faith knowing what baptism is for and why we do it and what it means and can decide whether to get baptized in his name based on belief
