........I love CC, but I'm sure half the threads could be resolved with a fresh revelation of grace!!

I used to live under law and grace........like ok Jesus, You said 'it is finished', but.....?

If we try and live by the law, it will crush us.......the Bible says if we break part of the law, we break it all James 2:10. So that little lustful glance, if your living under the law, turns into murder, stealing, idolatry, blasphemy etc etc.
It's pride to think we could stand before The One True Holy God in anything but the perfect righteousness of Christ. If your reading this as a Christian, you are the righteousness of God in Christ, 2 Corinthians 5:21, whether you feel like it or not. Were believers not feelers. Meditate on it, proclaim it over and over and be blessed :)

*If your reading this as a non Christian, repent of your sins and trust in Jesus as Lord and Saviour, and His death to pay the price you deserved for your sins. Or face great and fearful judgement for eternity*
Sounds simple and it is, we have a choice, God won't force you

This is not a license to sin by the way, far from it, but God needs people who know who they are in Christ. And won't spend days wallowing in self-pity after sinning, whilst people around them go to hell.
There is no condemnation for those in Christ Romans 8:1, it's easier to sin when your fighting against condemnation, than when you walk in the fulness of God's unmerited grace! Praise the Lord :)
 
Thanks, Mr. Tim, I totally agree. It's important to learn from our mistakes and repent and try to do better next time, but if we beat ourselves up over them too much, it's harder to stay focused on Christ. This makes me think of the time Peter jumped out of the boat and went running across the water to see Jesus. As long as Peter stayed focused on Jesus, he was able to do the seemingly impossible (walk on water). However, when Peter took his eyes off of Jesus, and instead looked at his situation (you could think of the swirling water as an allegory for our earthly, mistake-ridden situation), he began to sink. So, yes, we should learn from our mistakes, and repent of them. But if we think about them too much, we lose focus on our strength: Jesus! Staying focused on Him is the only way to ultimately become more like him, and as Christians, that should be our ultimate goal, right? :)
 
Well put, and without coming off as over-zealous/preachy. Food for thought is the best kind of food.

Another thing God impressed on me, through Psalm 84. Better is one day in His courts than a thousand elsewhere...........I could of spent a thousand days trying to earn His love, but the acceptance I felt in one day with a revelation of grace was immeasurably more important :)
