Greeters??

Maybe you would consider greeting new members? Other site do it and the entry experience for new folk is 180 degrees different than being left to 'float' in newbee oblivion.
 
There is a new person forum. Many post and welcome the person. Also in Chat when someone is a new Member it states that when they come into the room.

Some are self appointed greeters, but it would be rather difficult to schedule greeters 24/7. Especially considering the number of volunteers the site already utilizes. Even the Mods and Admins are on their own schedule. There is no schedule for any site leaders.
 
There's already a bot in place that encourages people to greet new members.
Although some people prefer to greet the CCBOT instead. :rolleyes:
